I do mine under the grill ,lower shelf. Its easier to turn them a quarter turn on the rack so they brown evenly, just push them forward one bar at a time.I also speed up a cooked breakfast at the weekends by cooking all the sausages the day before then reheating in the micro for 2 minutes. Then I can get bacon, black pud, sausage and poached eggs for 5 on the plates in 15 minutes tops.

Anyone got a recipe for potato scones (potato farls in Ireland I think) which works ?
DS and me love em but can only get em once a week in Tesco (it is 13 miles away and we only go once a week).
    Thanks.

Just had a look in my trusty Be-Ro book (www.be-ro.co.uk) and they say:

    Makes 12

    450g (1lb) Potatoes peeled & cooked
    1 x 2.5ml spoon (half tsp) salt
    50g (2oz) Butter
    100g (4oz) Self Raising flour

    1. Mash the potatoes, add salt, butter & flour to give a stiff mixture.

    2. Turn out onto a floured surface, knead lightly and roll out to a thickness of 1cm (1/2 inch).

    3. Cut into triangles & cook on a hot greased griddle for 4-5mins on each side. Serve hot.

** I don't have a griddle pan but have used a dry heavy bottomed frying pan with great results. They are yummy :D HTH

No salt available anywhere locally because everyone's been salting their drives and everywhere has sold out.

Does anyone know how to make bread without salt?!

Leave it out :p I've done it (inadvertently :o ) and though you can tell it's saltless, it's perfectly edible.
