I use them in soups, casseroles, stews, bolognese, chilli, meatball sauce, savoury mince & sausage casserole
Anything that I want to stretch out really or make more satisfying. Plus I like the fact that a serving of lentils is a portion of your 5 a day & has protein & fibre in! The only thing that my kids know their in is the soup - they reckon not to like them in anything else :rotfl: HTH
Thanks for that! I'll give it a go. I had to add them to the chilli without saying anything, hubby had the idea that they would make everything slimy lol. He was pleasantly surprisedSPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65

Bit late I know...yes you can use spaghetti as noodles in stir-fries. This is what they do at my kids' primary school dinners because the kids are less freaked out about trying new things (with vegetables!!) if they at least recognise the spaghetti element. So I tried the idea myself and it works very well, and my kids would eat any combination of topping on a spaghetti-noodle base. They're older now and will happily eat normal stir-fry noodles but they still like the spaghetti sometimes.Val.0 -
Hi
I've just gone through my tins cupboard and found a tin lurking at the back of three bean salad - Cannellini Beans, Flageolet Beans, Adzuki Beans.
Does anyone have any idea what I could do with them please? Was thinking some sort of soup or pasta bake but am not a very good cook unless I have some sort of recipe
Cheers

That would be good, we make meatballs quite often. Does anyone have a good meatloaf recipe handy? I've tried two or three over the years but haven't found one that is particualrly good. I'd rather have one that is recommended! TIA xSPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65

(presuming they take on water so if I soaked 400g dry weight I'd have more once they were wet/cooked).
Thanks.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

The only thread I can think of off the top of my head is the leftovers thread, will that be of any help?0
