what can you make with chicken livers ?
Sluts Pate:
250g chicken liver,
1 or 2 slices of streaky bacon (cut coarsely),
about a handful of mushrooms - about 5 or 6 I guess (sliced)
and a tot sized bottle of brandy,
some butter (margarine is ok but it does change the taste)
and one egg
Melt your butter and fling in your chicken livers and bacon. Just
seal the outside and then fling in the brandy and flambe. When
the flame has gone, in go the mushrooms. Cook until the chicken
livers are just cooked but take them off the heat before they go
crumbly (otherwise you end up with a gritty texture).Fling that
lot in the liquidiser with the egg and whoosh. (The retained
heat, effectively cooks the egg)Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Left over chicken gravy - what do I do with it? First time I ever made it (proper gravy!) but had a fair bit left so froze it. So far on my weeks menu plan is shepherds pie (with lamb mince) and sausage & baked bean hotpot. Can I stick it in either of those, or would that be a bit odd?
You canThat's what I do, to add extra flavour.

Hey all
Saw Nigella on tv earlier and loved the idea of her mexican lasagne. Do you think it could be frozen? It doesn't say so on the website but I would freeze all the bits individually so can't see why not. It serves 8 and I live on my own so would need to freeze leftovers as otherwise I'd be eating it for a week :rotfl:. and I can't see a way of making it smaller as tortillas only come in big size!
This is recipe:

That looks tasty - into my file of recipes I must try one day, I think!
Like you, I can't see any reason why you couldn't freeze it: I'd do it.Back after a very long break!0 -

Not sure if this is an OS question but will ask here anyways.....How much soup is a portion for a person?
I tend to just chuck whatever into a pan and make soup then eat it. But I followed a recipe for carrot and coriander soup from a website on weekend. The recipe said it served 6 people, but I have only got 2 portions from what I made, albeit generous portions! So probably enough for 3 people I guess. The portion I have left is approx 500mls. Is this too much as a main meal?!
I'm not too bothered as all my soups are low fat (and synfree on slimming world diet), plus full of veggies, but just wondering....!

Hi flutterbyuk,
I think of a portion of soup as a bowl. Our soup bowls hold roughly 300mls. However, if we're having soup as a main meal with bread or sandwiches etc we would probably have two bowls each.
