  • I've got a brocolli head that has started to turn brown in places. Will it still be ok to use to make a soup?

no expert, but: the mincemeat will have had some sugar in it. if you skewer it and add alcohol go for a sweet one, what was the ratio of sugar to flour to start with?

can't see why not, as long as it's sound and not slimy once you've cut the brown bits off.

  • Hey all

I'm about to make this for tomorrow but don't have any flaked millet (or have any idea what it is!! :o). What can I use instead of it?

In my storecupboard I have oats, red lentils, breadcrumbs, rice, beans (red kidney, cannelli, mixed, baked etc), flour, couscous.

    Thanks in advance!

Millet is a grain. You can get flaked millet in health shops and use it to make porridge.

You could replace it with oats. The recipe sounds yummy :)

I have a vague recollection of making up a jelly, then mixing an egg yolk into the warm mixture, whipping up the egg white to peaks, then folding that into the jelly, when the jelly sets it separated into an opaque jelly layer and a coloured frothy layer......
Anyone remember something similar? I´ve searched google and yahoo but not found anything
