Would it be possible, do you think, to buy plastic boxes that would fit instead, as the drawers are very expensive to replace. grateful for your ideas.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

You certainly can - gammon freezes well. As for other uses, you could have it sliced in sandwiches (yum!), use it in ham and vegetable or chicken and ham pie, have some to replace bacon in pasta carbonara or similar dishes, or just have slices of it with bubble and squeak or jacket potatoes (also very yum!).

Peel them first though (you won't be able to once you freeze them) and pop them into a freezer bag, ready to use0 -
I have a bag of jacket potatoes which have turned slightly green. Am I still okay to cook them as jacket potatoes then freeze them or should I get rid of them?Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0

Hi
Just a quick question. In a bid to save some cash on lunches for work I bought some of those rolls that you bake at home. If I bake them tonight will they still be ok by tomorrow lunch time?
Thanks in avance

I have only ever bought them when there is nothing else available in the supermarket for that days consumption, I doubt whether they would be palatable the next day, but I could be wrong! I have been reading the fantastic threads on here re home baked bread, which I used to do when the kids were little, and I have to say I may start doing that again.0
