I have a vague recollection of making up a jelly, then mixing an egg yolk into the warm mixture, whipping up the egg white to peaks, then folding that into the jelly, when the jelly sets it separated into an opaque jelly layer and a coloured frothy layer......
Anyone remember something similar? I´ve searched google and yahoo but not found anything

the only similar thing I know involves whipping a tin of evap milk, stirring that into the jelly, and it sets in 2 layers. not the same, but safe for those who can't have raw eggs!

  • Bought some chilled Tesco roast potatoes for Christmas Day, some leftovers-is it ok to reheat in the oven? May sound a silly question, but I'm
sure that some chilled products used to carry a warning that said you shouldn't reheat them.Thanks.

  • Hope someone can help with this? I have a silicone 6 hole muffin tray which I have used a few times now, but any food cooked in it (muffins/yorkshire puds) has a strange chemical taste/smell to it from the tray after baking. Any ideas what I could use to get rid of this as it's putting me off using it...

    Thanks in advance.

It somewhat defeats the object of using silicon moulds, but you could use paper muffin cases :)

Think you can Mardatha, but give it a sniff or dab a bit on your tongue. When it goes off it'll go like vinegar IYKWIM.

Other wise it will be OK for stews etc.

if you're going to use the wine for cooking you can freeze it - either in ice cube trays or in bigger containers/bags.

talking of freezing, does anyone know if evaporated milk can be frozen?
