100 Day Challenge

  • Hi All

I had absolutely no idea this challenge was going on (have been under black debt cloud for so long and I've not really noticed anything else :o )

So, with renewed determination in the New Year (for kicking the debts into touch) I would like to join in a challenge and this sounds like one for me.

Well done to all of you - it's been great reading what you have all achieved (no chocolate though ... nooooooooooo, that WONT be one of mine :p )

Apart from cosmetics (which I've always had a soft spot for) I will think of a couple of others to give up for 100 days.

I shall have to keep my eyes peeled and watch out for the next one.

Fantastic efforts everyone - give yourselves a jolly good pat on the back :D

Hope everyone is still doing ok:D I have just tortured myself in Boots. The No7 artist's collection is half price and it's gorgeous. Plus you get the GWP as well. I looked at it and looked at it again. I so badly want it. But I don't need it so I came away empty handed (well I bought a present for BIL and 2 stocking fillers for kids 342). I have now been on Boots.com and had the thing in and out of my basket like a yo yo:rotfl: I am still staying strong though. This Christmas gift thing is hard. I also want the Rimmel palette that you get when you spend £10 on Rimmel. I'd love to try the new mascara so that would help me get to the £10. However I keep telling myself that I have the palette they gave as a GWP last year untouched:eek: I just don't need it but it's gorgeous. I think I need help:rotfl:

Hang in there, you're just like me, I have bought endless sets off QVC which are unopened and unused. This is why I am doing this challenge to either use them all up/sell on ebay things i will never use. I tortured myself by going in Boots and seeing all of the gift sets which I looked at and then had to stop myself and walk away and leave. It is the ACE strategy either AVOID/CONTROL/ESCAPE just depends how strong you are at the time, I am avoiding and escaping as I feel dragged in by the marketing techniques in the shops and the value they pretend you get from them getting your money.

Come on you can do it, then when you do, try for another 100 days and if you need anything set a strict limit and criteria for your next stage of change eg ''only if you really really need it and will use it''

I have done 5 days now and I am coping with not watching QVC just fine and happy and I'm surprised that the shops in town are catching me out more and making me crave. I am so happy at 5/100 days and will be pleased when i get to 7 days and so on. I realised I had started this challenge at the most difficult time of year with all the triggers of beauty gift sets we can't do without to go with all the others we really didn't need.

Be strong, take the set out of your basket, you've done so well to get this far :T Do something else tonight and stop looking online AVOID!!

Same here! 1st of Jan it is. On the cosmetics/toiletries front I've bought absolutely nothing since the challenge started. :jOn the food front, I've fallen off the wagon. So I reckon the next challenge in Jan for me will be *takes deep breath* giving up chocolate

Have a stack of stuff myself cause I AM the Avon lady (but its all for next years Xmas, but as I just told a few people today, you don't have to order out of each brochure, but will leave you one if you want, there is no commitment nor pressure.
Guess being a tight wad at times myself, I don't expect people to order each and every time, heck 3-4 times a year will do me.

My 100 day challenge part 2 is NO TAKEAWAYS/EATING OUT this includes the chippy. Where I tend to be buying stuff on a weekly basis.

It's my 7th day today and I have opened up and told the most important person to me what I am doing in this challenge for their support and help me change. I showed them my stash and they were shocked at the extent of my buying :o .They are supporting me to not buy things I do not need. :A

I sold some of my excess skincare on ebay for not too great prices but I am glad they have gone all the same. Better to do this rather than them stay unused and me buy more things  . I am about to photograph some more up for ebay and put some pressies together for family for Christmas :D .

V.pleased to reach the end of my first week and I have bought no cosmetics/skincare/anything from TV shopping :T . Hope I feel as strong in the second week as is still a long way to go until 10 March for 100 days;)
