Morning all. Just want to say thank you to Magni for starting this. I cannot believe (after the first week) how easy it is not to just buy stuff just for the sake of it. My strategy has been avoiding the temptation of shops like boots, superdrug, qvc etc - and if i have to go in them - i just say to myself - this is not about me, its about buying christmas presents (or whatever).
i have used up loads of things and have noticed that i have substantially reduced the number of half-used containers from my "stash" of cosmetics/haircare/skincare items. sadly, the remaining items still fill a small suitcase and a whole large carrier bag, but - the other side of the coin is that i have emptied 2 carrier bags!
have a great day all.1 oxfam jumper, 19 hexagon jumpers and 1 beanie!0 -

Well done! :grouphug:
I am just the same as you and I am on the way to finish all the things I have - (long long way to go mind!) Day 19 over for me on the way to a quarter of a way there now.
Having a little panic every so oftem about running out of mascara etc when I will make my current tube last a little longer with the tip I saw on here somewhere about warming the tube up in warm water for a short time. Plus I have one spare.
I am not at the stage of thinking I will run out of things yet apart from this and I have to keep reminding myself of this. Looking forward to getting to 25 days as a marker, plus it will be Christmas Day! :xmastree:

4 days to go:beer: I can't believe how well I have done. Like a lot of people I have used up a lot of half used stuff which feels great. I am about to finish another eye cream too:j I could easily still carry on til next Christmas though without having to buy anything:o I will be treating myself to a few things over Christmas but not too much (maybe £10 in Boots which would get me the free Rimmel palette;) ) added to the Christmas presents I am getting should give me enough of a fix to be raring to go again on the 1st of Jan:D

Hi guys, just checking in to see how everyone is getting on. I have had some chocolate but it was a gift to me and i have only bought chocolate twice in the last 100days and that was because i wasn't having any tea and needed something quick before rushing off somewhere else.
Am really surprised that i have managed to do it, found it easier than i had originally thought and i would like to continue only eating chocolate in moderation in the future.
As for my unofficial challenge of not buying any beauty products, i actually didn't buy any, shows how many products i really do own!! Used up quite a bit during this challenge as well, although i have tons still left to use up. So that will be my new 100 day challenge in the new year.
How has everyone else got on?:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j

I did it!!! I have purchased one deodourant in 100 days. I am going to continue using up the backlog of goodies. I'm quite embarrassed at how many I've had. It's certainly made me aware of which ones I will buy in the future and which ones are a complete rip-off!
Many thanks for this challenge, it's changed the way I view beauty products. I think I will be far less gullible about the claims made by the industry...Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Well done adnan!!!!:snow_grin :rudolf: :xmassmile and to everyone else who almost or completed their challenge :A
I wish I had started it along with you but I never looked at the site until later on (still better late than never......)
I'm 23 days in and feel very motivated to complete this on 10 March and then start another one!! I hope I can keep this level of motivation when my beauty stocks reduce at some point and I don't fall back into my old ways.
This is the first Christmas I have not gone mad buying beauty products pretending they were for presents and then buying another one for me to keep and then keeping lots for myself
I know I've said it before but this thread gave me more inspiration than anything else to give it a try!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Today is the last day for me too! I gave up magazines and kept to the challenge until last week, when I bought Heat for a very long train journey. So I guess I failed the challenge but I have saved a lot of money. Hope everyone else had better luck! x0

Last day today:beer: Well done to everyone who has had a successful challenge, become addicted to using stuff up and kept on the straight and narrow for the last 100 days:j Don't all be rushing out to the shops tomorrow and going mad though:eek: I won't as the shops are way too busy now:eek: I have been good for most of the challenge although I have bought myself my Christmas presents from dh and the kids. They have arrived and I have looked longingly at them many times:o but I have not used them and tomorrow I must wrap them up. How sad is that that I have to do this but at least this way I get exactly what I want;) I won't have much opportunity to get to the shops to buy any stuff betwen now and 1st of Jan because of the way my shifts fall (I'm working Christmas Day:( and the 4 nights after:eek: ) so I'll be too tired to spend which isn't a bad thing.
I've never started a challenge before and I'm so glad this one has turned out well. Thanks to everyone who joined in:D Looking forward to the next 100 days:D100 Day Pot £13
