I did buy a few toiletries (shampoo and conditioner as I found that the odds and ends I have lurking around make my hair greasy) but I did cut way back. Everytime I was tempted I thought of this thread and I reckon I saved myself about £100 throughout the 100 days. I've estimated this based on what I was spending in Boots prior to starting this thread.
Not sure about the new year- definitely going to keep going with the not buying toiletries, but would like to add something else as well. Will post back!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
id like to jump in on this and for 100 days give up the following

Well done to all those who've completed the challenge
In 100 days the only vaguely cosmetic item I bought was some spot cream - but the cakes/biscuits side of the challenge went to pot. Oh well. My next challenge no makeup or chocolate (not even free chocolate!) - I started early, on Christmas Eve, but will go to 100 days from 1st Jan like the rest of you.
Thanks magni for starting this thread! I can't blieve how much rubbish I've stopped buying. xx :beer:0 -

Did it make every day special?
(I used face cream on my legs and feet - they loved it; and clear skin moisturiser on my shoulders when I got he odd blemish there; I have eye cream that I am thinking of using on hands....)£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

hello i would like to join in on this aswell! I will not buy any make up or cosmetics for the 100 days, this will be hard compared to what im used to!!! I have so much stuff around that i should be fine! Only thing is deoderant, havent got a back log and just can not do without that so it will be my one exception...
I also just had a shock when i worked out when the 100 days run out as i will be a mummy again before then (dont know why it shocked me!!)
So this should help me save a little!! Might also think about including something else on the challenge....was thinking chocolate or take aways but both i dont think i would manage esp with the baby coming, when im heavy pregnant im sure there will be lots of times when i NEED chocolate or cant be bothered to cook lol....GC: Nov: £60.22/£450 Oct: £338.48/£450, July: £363.05/£450, June £447.98/£500£2 savers No68: £104/£100 :j:jmummy to: 8yr, 5yr, 3yr, 2yr, 1yr. Sooooo - magni, will there be a nice shiny new thread for us to sully on 31st/1st or will we make our pledges on this one?
I think we should have a nice shiny new thread. I will start one up later. I'm going to put a list of all challengers in the first box and I'll put a link from here to the new thread when it's done. I'm just out of bed after 4 busy nightshifts so I'll come back here later when I have had copious amounts of tea and am feeling more alive:rotfl:100 Day Pot £13
