I buy the Costco own brand dry food for my puddytat, it's either £10 for a 7 kg bag, or £7 for a 10kg bag. I can never remember which way round it is and my mother always buys it for me since she has a Costco card and I always just give her £10 for it.

Whichever, the cat really loves it, he's healthy as anything and has a beautiful coat and a big bag lasts me anything up to 6 months so it's REALLY cost effective.

Right from the cats being kittens I trained them to know what they'd have to eat what was down otherwise they'd go hungry so they were never picky about their food (although one of them tried eating plants last year and managed to poison himself hence he's no longer with us).

Anyway, cut a long story short I REALLY recommend the Costco dried cat food.

I wish the dog was as cheap to feed.

If you follow the link she gave me there is lots on dogs to I will go back annd read later as I have 2 dogs too great site with loads to read will keep me going for hours!

Hiya all, hope everyone is well.
I've completely deviated from my meal plan this week. After going to market with my friend on Tuesday, we ended up going out for lunch, and yesterday, when she bought the apples I left in her car she also bought me a portion of her chow mein.
I was supposed to have a guest today so I took out my posh sausages as she doesn't eat fish and she's just cancelled on me!
I still haven't sat down and worked out how cheaper the market is compared to the supermarket. I'll work it out later. I'm off to make my sausage and cous cous salad now.

    Ciao x
Getting there... A deal at a time. :T

asda are the only ones round here still giving it away, but not on a sunday. I usually go to the entrance to the bakery bit, where they are all with the white hats and overalls, and when someone spots me just smile and say 'hi can I have some fresh yeast please?'. they give it to me, and we always pop it on the conveyor belt, but the checkout asst. just lets it go straight through...

    hth love weezl xxx

eek! Have Tesco stopped then? I haven't asked for a couple of months because they gave me quite a large lump last time but I've just about run out of my freezer stock now.

Please stop posting chaps, I am only up to page 32!

Just like to say that the savoury flapjack from MSE is extremely nice with sundried tomatoes inside of onions and carrots (it's what we had in). Also ellawood Vegemince is pretty 'meaty' have you tried that?

No free yeast here, paid €1.20 for about 100g last week...really like fresh yeast, I am sure that I get better results with it, but it is expensive....wish I could just buy it off the shelves as you can on the Continent as they always make you feel as if they are doing you a favour in my local Superquinn...

    Morning all,
Just reading about the washing powder. Now I also use Tesco value powder. I just looked at the box, says 2 cups for main wash. Now thinking I was being MS I was using a yogurt pot to measure and using one. Just weighed it and it's 100g of powder!!!

Anyway, what I wanted to ask those who also use it is does it leave any white marks on dark washing? Since I swapped to this powder it seems to leave white streaks. OH keeps complaining and is nearly at the end of his tether. Am thinking either I need to use less or my washing machine is rubbish. Any thoughts anyone?

I use value washing powder (usually Tesco's).. I use max 1 tblsp of powder per wash for dirty items (as in gardening clothes/kids school clothes or covered in dirt clothes) and for clothes worn 2-3 times before washing but not 'dirty' I use about 1/2 tblsp.. everything comes clean!

I do wash whites at 60 but everything else at 30 (lowest temp my mach does), the only stains I struggle with a orange stains but I found those a problem with other detergents so try and soak/pre-treat before washing and hang in sun. I get no white streaks left.
