Thanks Denise. Have taken my meds-no common activities (which I guess is a good thing). I'll just leave it where it is for now and see what DF thinks when I've got over my wobblies.
Triker You know how you always say "that Thang"...I know it sounds odd but thanks for saying it just now. Every time I read it I hear my dads voice. He also always calls things "Thangs", and especially when he's giving one of us a proud squeeze about the shoulders:). I miss him.
Oh dear Im all weepy now, Greenbee's not looking...may I PLEASE go have a cig now?
ETA And me with my minimals with Toots on her way into the hospital again, Im sorry. But you just reminded us again why 6 days will seem so loooonnng:)

Arghh!! I have someone coming over in an hour who I haven't seen for ages - didn't fly yesterday, so need a HHC to get rid for the CHAOS.
Will anyone join me for a HHC 9.15-9.45?

Hi! 1st post. wondering if you OSers could help. I am a traditional housewife, and making a wonderful safe and comforting home for my family is really important to me. The thing that I have a problem with is structuring my day in order that all jobs get done. Does anybody have a plan to make things go smoothly?
In the 1930s or 1950s did a housewife learn a particular set routine from her mother??? I love learrning about the past and wondered if anybody had any wisdom to share, i.e. do i do my baking in the morning? or is it better to do the washing them? etc.
sorry if this sounds a bit rambling, but i am in my mid 20s and I grew up in care so i have had no useful skills passed down to me!
please helpGoals: Have a Homemade Christmas 2008, lose a 1 and a half stone, be thankful for everything I have.

Apart from spending hours in this site, tryinng to save money!!!
I try to clean at least 1 room a day. Make bread and hobnobs or stuff for kids packed lunches next day. Appointments with Drs, Dentists etc. I seem to spend a lot of time shopping. Going round different stores to get cheapest stuff and bulk by anything thats on offer. I try to read the paper and walk the dog - and of course there is always the garden to sort out!!!
Your job is very important. Good luck..0 -
Hi, Welcome . I have 4 children, 3 at full time primary school and 1 at pre school 3 times a week. (though this week he is poorly, having had a bad Asthma attack:eek: ). Anyhoo I tend to base my routine around them. Usually having planned a weeks worth off menu's, I have shopping delivered on a monday. I tend to cook anything that can be prepared earlier in the morning. Doing chicken curry for tonight. I tend to do washing and dishes, tidying up as I am going along, like putting the clean laundry away, I then tend to find more laundry hidden under their beds:D. I also try and get time to myself and go running 3 times a week. I would say do what works for you. Perhaps your local college may do a history class or borrow books from the library.I don't remember my Mum doing very much, so I had to learn as I went along. Life's too short to have set days for doing things. Good luckGrocery challenge june £300/ £211-50.
