Parking ticket in Asda car park - Is this legal, can they take me to court?

Well this thread has been running for quite a while.
I'm bored so I'll chuck in my tuppence worth. The guy who parked in the disabled bay because it was raining was plain lazy and ignorant. Deserved the fine.
As for the legalities of ASDA fining him? It's their car park that they maintain and that they are providing free to their customers. When you use the car park you are accepting their terms and conditions for that use. Including reserved spaces and fines. Should the terms and condition be displayed? Suspect the basics have to be displayed with full terms available to the public if required. Council car parks aren't much different and they should know the finer details.0 -

Council car parks are completely different.
Not worth chucking your tuppence worth in;)We all evolve - get on with it0 -
Aye probably not. But I'm bored.
I still think he deserved a fine, legal or not.
I know council car parks are different but do they display full terms and conditions? My local one refers you to the council for more information.
If ASDA cant fine him as landowners then how do the wheel clampers get away with it?
And, what if it used to be a council run car park that the council gave to the supermarket to use? Just wondering because that happened near me.
Going for my thruppence worth now.0 -
Personally I think they should stop putting the tickets on the cars or sending out the "fines". Bring back the good old fashioned clamp. Then there would be no arguing. Pay the money and we take the clamp off. Don't pay the charge clamp stays on. End of story. If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550

As I said on a previous post. These clamps are easy to remove and I have removed them, after getting shown by another Scouser. Jack up Car. Let down tyre and once off undo the clamp. Leaving it in a full piece for the greedy ars* sitting waiting for his pieces of silver.
NEWS FLASH
The Ferrari F1 team fired their entire pit crew yesterday.
This announcement followed Ferrari's decision to take advantage of the British government's 'Work for the Dole' scheme and employ some Liverpudlian youngsters.
The decision to hire them was brought about by a recent documentary on how unemployed youths from Toxteth were able to remove a set of wheels in less than 6 seconds without proper equipment, whereas Ferrari's existing crew could only do it in 8 seconds with millions of pounds worth of high tech equipment.
It was thought to be an excellent, bold move by the Ferrari management team as most races are won and lost in the pits, giving Ferrari an advantage over every other team.
However, Ferrari got more than they bargained for!
At the crew's first practice session, not only was the scouse pit crew able to change all four wheels in under 6 seconds, but within 12 seconds they had re-sprayed, re- badged and sold the car to the Mclaren team for 8 cases of Stella, a bag of weed and some photos of Lewis Hamilton's girlfriend in the shower.
Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -

Providing you do not damage the clamp, you can take it apart and put it back together again. A policeman watched me after a clamper called police 'criminal damage' - police 'what has he damaged?'

THis thread has highlighted just how many selfish people there are in this world, who only think of themselves, and not of those less fortunate than themselves.
How would those same people like it if people just started parking in their drive?
We should all remember that any one of us could become disabled, and then they would be the first to complain.0 -

Depends on the clamp, some are harder to remove. If the clamper is there and watching you remove it he could always just put one on another wheel. If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -
This thread has highlighted how many people do not understand about car parks and charges, or lack of, therein.

This just isn't about disabled parking. It is about Fraud (some blue badge holders), Theft and Intimidation (some private car parking clampers and ticketers).Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0
