Sorry, I personally have not seen any.
In what way are they reserved?

There are always some reserved for certain groups of people. They usually have big signs near them and have painted symbols on the floor.

Big signs saying Disabled or Parent & Child etc. May not be reserved for a certain person but certainly for a certain group of people.

As Storck said, they are reserved by the land owners who choose to reserve the spaces for those who need them. This is the right of the land owners to do so.

I still don't see how they are "reserved" - putting up a sign means nothing

If it is a free car park they are not in anyway reserved.
Anyone can park in them should they so choose without any financial penalty.

The land owner can choose who can or can't park on their land, and they can choose who can park where on their land.

Are you just making an excuse for parking where you want rather than considering those less fortunate than yourself?

How does the landowner stop people parking in these "reserved" spaces then?

I am engaged in a online debate about parking which has nothing whatsoever to do with my parking habits, of which you know nothing.

Read the title of the thread and you will see how they do it.

As you cannot get a "parking ticket" in a private free supermarket car park I am still unlcear as to how the landowner might deter one from parking in these "reserved" spaces?

Well, how do they do it? Bearing in mind that the supermarket cannot legally impose a penalty charge.
