This is the problem! Trisotana has a point, but then anyone without any mobility problem would abandon there. As in the case of the op.0 -
So just to recap on where we are then, disabled bays on private land do not apply to blue badge holders but to all those who are disabled whether or not in possession of one, to invoice a disabled person for not displaying a blue badge amounts to discrimination under the very act under which blue badges are issued, these invoices lke any other issued by a ppc do not have to be paid.
Oh and nothing Tiim says is based on logic nor law.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
it grieves me that attitudes like this still exist. partly why I have hidden my disability from the stigma. I AM NOT DISABLED, IM A PERSON WITH A DISABILITY.
You have twice mentioned that there is a stigma with being disabled but I have never noticed it with either of my parents. People tend to treat them with great courtesy and understanding.
You imply that they changed the badge colour to blue as a 'thinly veiled prejudice' against people suffering with depression - what???
I can't believe you claim that it costs money to have a sticker removed from your car - they stick them on the windscreen surely, not on the paintwork!
As for giving your blue badge to a friend, I hope you realise that you are both involved in a criminal act which can involve you losing your right to the badge (which presumably won't bother you) and a fine of up to £1000 for using one illegally.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

hes a lawyer, im sure he knows more about the law than you
you show how little you know, as the glue from the sticker on the glass was so strong, it was near impossible to remove. had to pay a garage and keep the receipt. it is criminal damage if it costs money to fix. (the word damage). which is why if I throw water over some clothes on a washing line - i havent caused damage as the wind would dry them for free.
i have been met with nothing but stigma since my disability, but the people who do it make me feel glad that at least they are paying for it - a small victory i guess.0 -

Yes mate and when you make up your mind,I hope it is for the right party-the party that cares for the likes of you and me.0 -

true but only a very small percentage. because most would lose their careers. considering how long it takes to study and become a lawyer, I dont see why most would risk it. the only ones who tend to get in trouble are drink driving offences, and that could happen to anyone really.0 -

See the Wolstenholmes thread :eek:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
It could not happen to anyone - only those people who drink and drive will it happen to.
Is your lawyer friend legally entitled to have a blue badge? We all evolve - get on with it0 -

This probably owes more to your attitude than other peoples!
You don't have to be a lawyer to know the law
Misuse of a blue badge is a serious offence.- A badge can be withdrawn if it is misused or allowed to be misused by others.
- It is a criminal offence for non-disabled people to use a badge. If they do so, they are liable to a fine of up to £1,000.
- It is a criminal offence to drive a vehicle displaying a blue badge unless the badge holder is in the vehicle, or the vehicle is being driven by someone other than the badge holder for the purpose of entering or leaving an area (which is accessible only to vehicles displaying a blue badge) in order to pick up or drop off the holder.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!0
