    Evening all,

Its been another lovely day here, we took little dog out for a walk in the hope of picking some blackberrys, struggled to find many on the first few bushes, so gave up and carried on walking, went along a bit and there were bushes smothered in lovely big ripe ones, so we picked 5lbs, could have had more but we ran out of things to put them in, so I think I will be making more jam tomorrow :T .

Had pork chops, roasties, cabbage brocoli and carrots for lunch, then OH moved the lawns and I have pottered in the garden for a couple of hours, its been lovely and relaxing. My lovely neighbour gave me some more rhubarb, so will stew that up for the freezer tomorrow.

OH bought me a zen from the carboot sale, which is like a mp3 player, and I have had that on in the garden listening to my opera, I think he and dd planned it so they don't have to listen to it, not sure what the neighbours thought of my singing though :D .

Pen pin, hope you feel a bit better tomorrow, and good luck with your helper, let us know how you get on x

Pixielust, well done on the walk, thats a fantastic amount raised, will have a look at the photos on FB in a mo x

Hello to sassy, its good here.

Well going to veg in front of the tv now, wife swap in on at 8, then Tess at nine, so a good evenings viewing.

    Have good evenings all

Love to Beth and Ben xx

Redruby - me and the BF both have Zen's he got me mine for christmas... its brilliant! way better than an ipod, i got fed up with my ipod very quickly, but the zen is really great! I think its because its made by Creative and they have a fantastic reputation for sound programs etc.

Hi Friends, My DH is sleeping (wrapped in the tonne of cotten wool I needed for him)
I haven't been able to post untill now as I can't take my eyes off him, still early days.
I walked into the kitchen to find DH microwave-ing the salt and pepper pots
after asking,'' uumm Darling, umm, by the way um, why have you put the S&P in the micro?'' He then explained that they were damp and he thought it a good idea to dry them out. Pheeeeew!!

OS wise I have cooked dinner of YS Chick breast no skin, salad, and jackets.
    Fruit salad to follow.
    Not much more achieved.

Whist DH has been sleeping I have managed to Stardrops the kitchen froor, Bathroom, Shower room, and kitchen. Don't want to do much as when he is awake he feels a bit surplus to requirements. As if!!

DH has always been hands on in the domestic side of our life. If anyone remembers that scene with Morcome & Wise doing the breakfast sketch, that's me and Ben.

I must catch up on all posts as from Fri.

just want to send to you, love, thoughts and kindest wishes that I have received from all of my dear friends.
  • Awwww Beth - I'm glad he's home and in your tender care - hope his recovery continues in a positive diection - I think about you both often.

Hello kitty, ( I could burst into song), welcome, you will like it here. OH got the Zen for £5, so it was a good price, I already love it, he has also just bought me a keyring holder for it from Ebay, so I can have it on my keys, its tiny and weighs almost nothing, I am very pleased with it.

Just had some of my hm jam on toast for tea, yum.

Poppy how long now ? I hope you don't mind me asking but where is your OH coming from ? I am really nosy, are you still counting the days xx

Off to watch wife swap now xx

    Evening friends :hello:

Beth, so pleased you have got Ben home. I would think that your face was a picture when you saw him nuking the salt and pepper :rotfl:
Scuzz, at least you brought the sun home, well done.
Pixie, well done, that's a super amount that you raised.
Mum and I went to a farm tea room that we visit often and 3 calves had been born this week. They were absolutely gorgeous, so pretty.

I stewed some rhubarb this morning and have made a crumble with custard for tea. I've also made a very elderly leek into a leek and potato soup, well it's doing its best in the slow cooker. :D

Ann, I had to look up the crumble recipe, I used half fat to flour and then same sugar as fat, so.
    4oz plain flour
    2oz butter
    2oz sugar

Rubbed together flour & fat then stirred in sugar.
I used a mix of soft brown, caster and granulated sugar (using up all those bits) I also added some mixed spice to the crumble mix.
In the oven for about half an hour.

Now, I have read on here about freezing the crumble topping, so I doubled up and have a little tub of crumbs ready for next time.
(I found the recipe in my school cookery book)
