OS Daily Thread - Sunday 14th September

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sunday 14th September. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning everyone,
My final early morning til next Friday when it all starts again!!
Had a great evening last night though with the start of Strictly Come Dancing and Casualty back again, I was in TV heaven!!
I haven't been through the whole of yesterdays thread yet so forgive me for not being totally up to date.
Beth - hope your husband is ok, thinking of you both.
N9eav, glad you had a good day, shame about bumping the car.
Hester- I don't know how you do it with a constant stream of people visiting, it would drive me mad after a few days!!
WMF - good luck having the inlaws there, and I love the idea of noisy hoovering!
Sunnyday - Oooh that salad sounded delicious
aussielass - that top is lovely
Squiggly - have a great time at the dogs honey.
joannasmum - hugs to you
The cat just went a little bonkers like they do occasionally and started flicking anything she could reach off the desk and when I tried to stop her, she decided to bite me and get all tiger-ish (as we like to call it). She has calmed down again now but I have some nice bites and scratches to show for it!! She is a daft thing sometimes.
I hope everyone has an enjoyable and peaceful Sunday - we are having roast chicken and all the trimmings... yumyumyum..
*Hugs* to everyone who needs one and congratualtions to anyone who is celebrating today!

To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough.

Morning Diva and all who follow. :hello:
Just packed off Mr Twit, I think he's getting fed up of this travelling lark let alone the cost of diesel for his van  (yes Floss that is his usually parked outside Chaos)
I found my self a belated birthday present on E-bay, so I got him to use his paypal for it, otherwise I'd never get my money back :rotfl:
No plans for today, but I may do a bit of ironing to keep on top of the pile and possibly a bit more paperwork. It's amazing how much more paperwork I can get through without OH questioning everything
Love and hugs to all and have a Stupendous Sunday
The Twit :grouphug:
Just caught up with yesterday's thread.
Haribo, hope you and Miss Haribo feel better today and Miss Haribo 2 doesn't fall victim also.
Smoky, ouch  poor LO, that will put him off going to the bathroom, sounds like you had a good shopping trip, I did read that you'd bought a 2.5 kg block of chocolate, then realised it was cheese. Have a good Sunday.
Rzl, famous eh, off to have a hunt and see if I can find you.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Good Morning
Yet again I've fallen off the OS and FL wagon. Determind to stay on this time.
Been reading through yesterdays thread and sending big hugs and thoughts to Beth and her family and all those that need it.
Yesterday I was very industrious, including entering 14 year olds room to discover a laundry mountain had evolved on his floor, so this morning is pretty much booked up with ironing.
Our youngest has the first match of the footie season today, and it is a special day in the history of DH he is all fired up to score. Wants to draw a picture on his belly so he can lift his shirt. I've warned him yellow cards are dished out in premier matches for such activity ! So it's touch line duty with a flask of hot chocolate for us today. Please no more rain.
Bought a mountain of fruit as I'm tired of the kids eating junk, so I will no longer buy it. I'm medi-ochre at home baking, think my kids are too polite to suggest otherwise, but you know what I have to learn to do better. So here begins a new era
Roast Beef for late Sunday Roast, need some good ideas for left overs as it's a huge piece, and going to research a baked apple recipe too.
Now kettles boiled...DC.

hugs to all this morning. ouchh to smoky's LO..poor soul bet that was sore.
today plan to fumigate DS bedroom now he's left
have been itching to deep clean it for ages, but on principle was making him clean it. DD is already planning to swap furniture...poor chap only gone 5 minutes...
washing is more or less up to date. only towels really but will wait to see what weather does first before so I can get them line dried.
going to have a look at some recipes, have been fascinated by the living for a month on £20..pause for thought on my food bills.
hope everyone has a good dayx x x0 -
God morning everyone and hope you are all OK?
Did not spend much time here yesterday due to a bad headache - don't know why; I don't get them very often. It disappeared while I was asleep so I'm back to normal. It was a shame because we had the best day weatherwise that we've had for weeks!
Charlie'sMum - was thinking about you yesterday and hope the wedding went well and that you had the same lovely weather we did!
Beth and Jo - I was delighted to read that both your DH's were back at home. (((Hugs))) to you all.
(((Hugs))) to Smoky, PenPin, Jayward, Essex-girl's Dad, Candygirl's Dad and all who need one. I'm a bit out of touch at the moment so please forgive me if I've forgotten anyone.
Churchmouse - :hello: :hello: :hello:
I enjoyed the first Strictly last night - it always seems strange to see the new celebrities but the programme was very good at introducing them and I can't wait for the series to begin properly next week. It's the only programme all year that I really don't want to miss.
Well, today is office work day and I need to straighten up my desk which has started to overflow with paperwork again; it doesn't take long these days to build up; whatever happened to the promise of a 'paperless' society?
Anyway, off to have a mooch around here. Roast chicken (in the Remoska, of course!) for dinner. I made some sultana cakes, a plum crumble and a coconut cake in there yesterday which all turned out delicious.
See you all later. Have a great Sunday.

Morning.
The sun is shining and the wind is still. Looks to be a great day ahead.
The wedding was great yesterday. Perfect weather, great food and entertainment and free booze. Could'nt be better.
I ended up working behind the bar which was fun as the volunteers for some reason were off doing somthing else.
I would imagine that bar work could be quite fun in a quiet setting, lots of conversation and laughs.
The brewery (Skinners of Truro) made a specail ale up called Ebbw'ale after the Welsh side of the grooms side of the wedding party. One of the best bits was the best man, who had written to 100's of Welsh stars of screen and sport and many had replied with wedding greetings to the couple. Impressive list of celebs.
Anyway it's boring to talk about weddings unless you were there.
Church this morning and then a lazy Sunday at home. What with weddings and fishing, I could use a rest and cutting the grass and BBQ will fit the bill.
Cheers enjoy your day.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Good morning everyone,
:hello: Taplady, mrs mix, twink, Shez, CM and all the other hussys!
Well, its been a quiet night, and no movement so far from the boys downstairs, so really pleased!!! I did ask them not to have a food fight this year, as my hoover isnt working, and when i went down to check on them before i went to bed, found they had ignored me - so a load of moaning from me and 3 suitably apologetic boys followed!
The mighty Plymouth definatly wernt very mighty (they lost 2 - 1) but the boys all seamed to enjoy themselves, so thats what counts. Then bought them KFC, so not very OS at all! Before we went, they had their first league match, which they drew 2 -2, they are in the top league this year and judging by the quality of the oposition yesterday, i think they are going to have to work hard if they are going to do very well.
Watched a bit of the proms last night, thought i saw Rzl, but then i wasnt sure so maybe if she is about later she could confirm what she was wearing and i will know if i was right!!!!
So, plans for today is roast chicken for lunch, and as the weather is looking good, i will be able to chuck the boys outside to play, which will be great. Like N9eav, i also need to cut the grass (i only have a strimmer as my mower blew up a while back, so ive been using the bad weather as an excuss not to do it) but if i dont get it done today, i think that will be it until next year and my garden already looks a bit jungle like! Im also hoping to carry on sorting my bedroom out - we finally did the car boot sale last weekend (made £100 :j)so all the boxes are now gone (either sold or up in the loft out the way ready for the next one, which will prob be next year) but i still seam to have loads of junk here, and would love to have a clean and tidy room once again!
Right, going to sneak downstairs and make a cuppa, dont want to wake the boys just yet, its nice to have a bit of peace still.
((HUGS)) to everyone who needs one,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Good Morning
Yesterday turned out to be lovely weather and today is looking the same too. Got loads of washing done & will do some more today - ironing will be this afternoon.
Have roast pork for lunch which I will put in the Remoska before going over the fields to see DS play footie. Hopefully he and his sister will do their homework early so can go down the beach later with the dogs.
I shall be mainly ironing today but I dont mind that as have loads of Inspector Morse saved on sky+. Also have a lovefilm dvd of son of rambo to watch all together later.
Not much else to say, hope everyone has nice weather too today.
Have a good one.

Morning everyone:wave:
I think I saw our Bargain Rzl on the telly last night. Was it you Bargain talking to Susie Klein in the interval? Did you enjoy the lovley Bryn Terfel ?0 -
Hello folks
Just popping in for quick post while I can before DH gets up. I do realise that they are his parents (sorry people who don't know what I'm talking about - I've been moaning about my nosy and fairly rude parents in law coming to visit).
Yesterday went ok. M in L actually went to watch DSS play football so wasn't left to her own devices in the house after all.
Today they are coming about 11.30 and staying in their campervan in the drive! eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek.
I was looking forward to my leisurely Sun evening and watching Tess in my jamas. Anyway, I've said to DH that I'll be going to bed at 9 instead and that will get me rested for work tomorrow. During the first half term of college I'm usually in bed by 9 as it's the most tiring term.
Anyway, they hadn't decided what they would do today (I thought whether they'd come to see us before heading off on their camper trip round Scotland but no, they must have meant whether they'd stay the whole day. I can see DH offering them a bed tonight which is fair enough but they are not getting my room after their 'inquisitive behaviour last time'
Have a good Sun all - off to read through before folks are up
