Just caught up on yesterday's thread!

Haribo - hope your dd is a lot better today, sounds like she has the same as dd3, she has still not been sick again, but is somewhat smelly - think she must be full of noxious gases - not nice at all and windows are all open, sorry if that's tmi for anyone this early in the morning! lol!

Smokey - oh your poor lo, hope his toe isn't throbbing too much today, give him a big hug from all of us. I like the sound of your market, cheap thornton's chocs and bargain cheese - mmmmm!

blairweech - I add a couple of handfuls of oats and a couple of handfuls of lentils to mince, plus assorted veg, perhaps the texture shock was too much to start with, do you just usually use mince on it's own?

    Ask on freecycle?
We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment

Mummysaver I'm afraid it's not very exciting THIS. Well not this exact one but one the same. :D

Blairweech, I hope the x-mas decs make ex-oh very happy. I bet you could get some on Freecycle if you didn't want to spend on new ones.

  • Morning all :hello:

I hope everyones well and the poorly OH's are on the mend

Sounds like a good wedding N9eav.:)

I feel a bit more human today - I will need to be on form as work tommorrow will be even busier:rolleyes:

Need to give the kitchen & bathroom a good clean today, roast lamb for dinner, one of my RTC finds from the other day. Yumm :D

I hope everyone is well and hugs for all
  • Morning all

I'm up so late and have so much to do. Have to go to the farm shop, ironing, homework and take DS swimming. Then cook roast beef and yorkshires. DSS is coming around for dinner.

WMF my MIL was truely awful when I first got married, she's mellowed a bit but not much. We had a huge row when DS was 3 weeks old and I stopped going to see her with him. Since then she's backed down but seeing her is still stressful particularly as DS doesn't like her.

GLITTERKITTY welcome, sounds like you've got off to a good start.

Hi and hugs to anyone else who would like one, have skimmed the thread. HARIBO hope you and yours are ok.

    Must go and organise myself.

    Have a good day all.

Sistercas - can you incorporate the ingredients you have to buy into your meal plans, or might it be stuff that she will need in future weeks? I always have loads of odd bits in my cupboards, but even so they occasionally ask for something that I don't ever buy, in which case I usually phone around lol! Or get them to phone a friend and arrange an ingredient swap. Prob best that I don't get started on what I think about school cookery lessons!

As for pringles, do you know anyone who eats them that you could call and see if they have a tube? They are often on special offer somewhere, especially in the run up to Chrimbo (which is now for the supermarkets!), perhaps a look on mysupermarket.com (or whatever it's called) would help you find an offer? I really get cross when schools specify stuff like this, what happens to those kids whose parents can't afford the stuff or just can't be bothered, yet another of my bugbears!

Whatatwit - well if it makes your heart sing what can I say? lol!

Popped pork in the remoska, it's a huge piece, best have a look at next weeks meal plan to use it up! Anybody got any fave pork recipes?

Edit: welcome glitterkitty! Your marsbar thing sounds nice, would last about 2 mins in this house, and that would be because of me, so don't think I'll be giving it a go (she says thinking about it!). You have reminded me thought that I promised to make cheese straws for next weeks lunchboxes, bet they don't last past tea time though, and that'll be me again no doubt lol! Well done with your shopping, it's great when you actually begin to notice the difference in your spending isn't it!

    Morning all,

Sistercas - Could you give your DD value stuff in jars - e.g. put some flour in a jar, some butter in a plastic box etc...I forgot my cooking stuff once and was asked to pay for school stuff (£1 per egg  ). Unfortunately I didn't have any money on me and so was given a detention

lol lol lol the detention bit really made me laugh
thanks for the advice ( dont know why I didnt think of it - dur!!!!)

mummysaver yes i could tweak my menu for next week as for the pringles I will ask SIL they sometimes have them ( sometimes I cant think straightforwardly(real word??)when I have steam coming out of my ears from numerous urgent?! demands from DD's) - time for a cup of tea

just having a quick surf and coffee between chores...and filling the washing machine. so much for the washing being up to date. have liberated a full basket's worth from DD's floor. still weather has been kind and there are loads of towels and her washing out on the line already.
