We have done a thing where I have been paying more rent as OH was earning less and then we just split bills. It means we had around the same percentage of dispoable income. He is now earning more so we are going to swap it round and I pay less of the rent.0

One idea would be to open another account, probably in your name due to his credit history problems and use that as your bills account. You can then both have X amount transferred in there every month or week and then the bills and rent roll out out of it during the month. You could put a little bit extra over and above what the bills etc come to so a little safety net builds up for any unexpected bills.
That way whatever is in your other accounts is 'disposable' income and you are not worrying about what date this or that direct debit is going out and will you have enough to cover it etc.
Just a thought.0 -
Wendz, i have said that idea to my OH before, but he didnt sound too happy about it at the time, think i explained it a bit muddled upto him and he didnt get what i was saying!
I do feel bad that he earns twice as much as me per month and will be paying more than me. But he says he doesnt mind and will be proud to bring the money in to look after us when we have a family.
KM, I agree this sounds the easiest way to do things. And i do already have account that i dont really use, i only pay my coins into it every month. We could use that for our outgoings.Although it doesnt have any overdraft, i think i would prefer it to have a £100 overdraft just incase we go over with the DD's. I will do some online banking see if i can get one put on.

List clutter on Ebay
Check banking online
See if i can get a £100 overdraft on unused account
Hoover out car

So far ive listed 10 things on ebay, most the what are things that i won last year so anything will be a profit! Also i got a Tesco till spit for extra points the other day which runs out next week so llisted that too as they make a few quid!
My OH is a work this morning, first time his got some overtime in months! He also just had someone call him about the car interior his selling, the bloke said he will offer him £500 if he can send him some more photos. which will be great as my OH only paid £300 pus £10 on leather cleaning kit. So £190 profit! It will be great if he buys it although im not sure where the bloke comes from so will prob end up paying huge ebay and paypal fees on £500.
My OH has already found a use for the money though! And its not for the rent deposit!! His found a car listed on Ebay that has an over heating problem the bloke only wants £200 for it and its in my town. 9 months MOT and 4 months tax, 4 new tyres. So my OH is planning on buying it, fixing it and selling it on for £900. My Oh reckons it will cost £50 max to fix it, so would hopefully make plenty of profit!Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750 -
Oh edit that! The bloke sold the car before my OH got round there! :rotfl:So if the bloke buys the interior the £500 is safe!

Morning!
One of my Ebay items has sold already! £14.50 i had to put it as a BIN as it was a wii game which they wont let you charge p&p on which is very unfair! Seeing ive sold the wii maracas with it!! So it will be about £3.50 to send 2nd class. So i just had to guess how much it was worth and add on postage in the BIN price. Seeing it sold so quick i cant help but wonder if i asked for enough!
The Tesco till spit is also ending in an hour and is up2 £4.50!
All the rest end Saturday, and ive still got a few more bits to list today.
Im feeling a bit rough this morning, sore throat. The woman at works daughter got sent home from school on thursday as theres 2 cases of swine flu there! And 4 cases of swine flu at the council where my dad works!!! I dont want it!!
I didnt realise but i checked my account i dont use online and it does already have a £250 reserve on it....does that mean overdraft???Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750
