MS-> Barclaycard online account warning

The sheet entitled "Barclaycard Cashback Bonus Scheme" is part of the welcome pack. It details how the new bonus scheme works including how Barclaycard can withdraw it any time they please by giving 30 days notice.
I must also say that I agree with pvt. It hadn't occurred to me about a retailer knowing that you are receiving cashback.
Thanks, I must have missed that then. With Chip and PIN though, most transactions occur and the retailer does not handle the card. Chain stores won't care either...but you do have a point.0 -
A word of warning to those of you transferring from Morgan Stanley Cashback to Barclaycard Cashbank card: beware the 'assumed sale' technique...
When I rang the 0800 833 234 number on the sticky label on my new card to confirm its receipt as instructed, the lady gave me a prepared spiel about the growth of ID fraud and how concerned Barclays were to protect their customers, and how I would be protected with Barclaycard.
Good job I was alert and didn't just mumble 'mmm' ....I asked her to confirm that ID fraud protection was included free of charge with my Barclaycard.
Oh no, that would cost £1.30 per week, charged to my account!!!
I told her to record the fact that I didn't want this, and to remove it.
She then said 'OK, I'll take it off then!
Be warned!
And Joseph, at Barclaycard's Indian Call Centre said he "Wanted to wish me a happy life" when I rang to complain about their non-functioning website. Don't you just love it!:rotfl:0 -
Hi Guys,
It's Giles from Barclaycard. Just to confirm that we are aware of the issues with the online service that you having been having over the last couple of days.
We are currently upgrading the service and adding another 50% capacity to ensure that we can handle as many requests as possible.
Please bear with us.0 -
I have to add I have just had two experiences with the call centre
One left me almost wanting to throttle someone - totally couldn't give a monkeys about anything, told me I couldn't see my statement online as they hadn't yet migrated everything - try again after the 29th,
Long story but Morgan stanley failed to call for a d/d for the full amount in September - but I paid over phone by switch.
so the lady told me told me that I should pay the full amount on my september statement to avoid charges - oh yes I will pay nearly 4k when I have already paid you nearly 2k....
asked to speak to someone else - she dropped me into an automated pay system ARGGGGGGH
anyway called back got a lady - most helpful, confirmed that I could view my statement on line and that yes the amount on statement was wrong and advised me what to pay this coming month...... made it all so simple
ps she was on the phone line for large print brail letter request.... not even the right department.... didn't try the general number again for fear that I might get the first lady again....
surely life should not be that hard
oh and for the record the first I knew about Barclay card taking over my M/Stanley card was a pin number through the post - thought someone was applying for cards in my name.....
Think a bit more planning might have gone into this...2007 £1749
2008 £291.99
2009 JanMasscara £7.00 Feb megcabot books x 2 £20 XFactor tkts x 2 £58.00 (couldn't go though as they only phoned on day :-( ) foundation £7.99
total so far for 09 £92.990 -

Are you typing this from the UK or overseas? :T0 -
John,
It's a wind-up.
Barclaycard would be most unlikely to post on this forum.
Even if they did they would post a grammatically correct message!
And it's inconceivable that Barclaycard would have been "taken by surprise" at the increase in online traffic generated by assimilating MS and GoldFish customers.

Is it me or does anyone else think that their old MS platinum card was quite smart looking while the new cashback barclaycard is mega low rent? After reading this thread I assume that Barclaycard hope we'll chop the cards up.0

I've managed to log into one existing Barclaycard account online but not another. Very annoying.
Does Giles (or anybody else , for that matter) know whether the new LV & Goldfish cards will allow balance transfers? Used to be able to do them online but now suspended pending the takeover.0
