The "Managing Director" is Gillian O'Brien. I don't know if anyone has come across her before?
Ive come across Gillian at 20 Dickinson St in Manc. Last August I worked for one day at this scam company after finishing uni and had my interview with Gillian and a girl called Tara was my 'leader'. I never liked Tara, she seemed really cocky and arrogant when she was actually just as thick as pig sh*t.
I noticed how hypocritical they were too as Gillian made it a big thing that I had to ask lots of questions on my observation day but then when I tried asking Tara about the business she wouldnt answer anything and informed me 'Ill tell you what you need to know throughout the day.' Well thats not very helpful is it! And it completely contradicts what the MD (Gillian) has just told me!
I took the job because I was fresh out of uni, it was my first interview and I was naive enough to fall for it but I didn't last more than a few hours. We were at the Trafford Centre signing people up to Littlewoods so luckily I could just jump on a bus to my home town but god help all those stranded on rough estates! I am glad sites like this are making more people aware.
For the record, it was called Select Marketing Solutions back in August but I've heard it is now G-Force and a million other names.0 -
I (like many others) fell hook, line and sinker for the scam and started working for 'JMS Marketing' last week. i last a few hours before deciding that it werent for me as my 'trainer' signed up a 75 year old woman in bad health to a contract when she didnt even know what was going on. i was told i will earn money when i meet my targets although no targets were set for me. the other lad in my position had targets set for him and has reached them that day only from his trainer to say he had reached them to fast and set him even more!! its disgusting. the girl i spoke to was called danielle very nice and polite (obviously well trained). they have a sister company called p&d marketing who are the exact same and i found another one today called presthania promotions and there sister compant is called platinum force. they all pull the same crap they need to be stopped i have a '2nd interivew' tomorrow (unsurprisingly) and a interview next monday for 'ortary commerce' with Ella Whiteley. dont know much about these, could anyone help me? any one heard of her?0

Hi guys,
i just got a call from Blackcode ad,and honestly i even cant remember when did i send them my cv- or possibly they found me somewhere, such as monster webpage..
Anyway, im desperately looking for a job in Brighton, and as you can see from my level of English, Im foreigner. What makes things reaaaly much more difficult.
So i have an interview tomorrow morning, and i really dont know if i should show up.. on the other hand, even if its a fraud, at least i can experience how the interview will look like, what they will ask me..
Well Im really sad with my situation right now.
But most importantly, i wanted to thank you all for your posts, and say that the idea with Facebook page is really great.0 -
Hi guys,

I have read BlackCode's website. Its all a bit odd isn't it?
Read the feedback page - I would expect customer comments (made up at the very least!) on here. Instead there are two people saying how good the job and the training is.
Then I found:
"Blackcode Advertising generates massive brand awareness and will deliver unprecedented volumes of new customers through the use of our trademark personal advertising approach the "Human Commercial"."
The human commercial being, I assume, YOU! Stood on the persons door step or in the middle of the high street.0 -
And here is another one: DS Global at Old Street (dsglobal.co.uk). The MD is Duncan Sharp, his admin is Zara Smith. I went there for the first interview and the trial day. Heard all the same !!!!!!!!s that were described in this thread.
Though, I am curious. They told me they would provide a contract of employment. I could not find out as I turned them down right after the trial day. Has anyone actually seen (and signed) a contract with these guys?
I'm not in position to assert that these practices are illegal or in breach with the Employment law but I bet these guys do not pay much tax or national insurance contributions. Might be worth reporting them to the Anti-fraud squads (hmrc.gov.uk/nmw/complaint.htm , endfraud.co.uk/Tax%20Fraud.html , actionfraud.org.uk/report-a-fraud/how-to-report-a-fraud , companieshouse.gov.uk/infoAndGuide/reportingFraud.shtml). I've never done such thing before but I think I'll make an exception. It's even a civic duty in this case.0 -

Stay clear of Parker Worldwide, Southampton or Lowe Worldwide, Bournemouth. They too are all run by the same people/businesses as described above in a pyramid system. Cleaverly they disguise the word scam in google by posting articles how to avoid scams, and running PR articles so search engines just find articles they have publish as opposed to what Joe Bloggs has written. Note the names may change and indeed the office addresses but keep an eye out for Bargate House, 2-4 Bargate, Southampton SO14 2DL or 27-31 Old Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, BH1 1DS. Its amazing how professional the websites look, vauge generic descriptions and little detail with what the main marketing activity is being door to door, 100% commission, self employeed. compare yourself parker-worldwide.co.uk and lowe-worldwide.com
Its been 18 months since the last person was promoted to manager and they interview 20 plus a day - Crazy numbers!!!!
Good Luck0 -
Hello everyone.
I applied for a job with JMS Marketing Ltd on Tuesday, got the call-back on the Wednesday (and did LOTS of nice research into them) and then went to the interview on Thursday before calling them back and grilling them about the job being a scam.
I should probably also mention I'm an ex-student of Film and TV Production with access to Audio Equipment, Acting Skills and Journalism training. If you'd like the full Audio Transcription of my Interview, phonecall and also a quick interview I grabbed with a Second Interview applicant who had just come back from selling stuff Door-to-Door, then please get in touch!
I'm going to the papers anyway, and have also been in touch with TalkTalk, Apple, Victoria Jackson, WatchDog, Miller Pattison...0 -
