[TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] Marketing Company - YOU WILL NOT BE A MANAGER ONE DAY!!!

WBW in Bournemouth - definitely something dodgy going on there.
Went for an interview in their Bournemouth offices...was a bit surprised to be offered an interview VERY quickly after I sent my C.V. Interview was with a guy called James. Very smooth. Bit flirty. Didn't really reveal too much about the job, didn't ask too much about any relevant marketing/PR experience I have... and the interview was over very quickly. He told me '60 people applied for this position...only two places are available.... we'll call you later.'
Surprise, surprise, I got a call back. He was 'really impressed' and wanted me to be a trainee manager, lol. Because I'd impressed them that much. By this stage I was already a bit suspicious but, desperate for a job and not wanting to turn down what could be a good opportunity, I went for the 'second stage interview.' Just wish I'd found this forum before I wasted a day doing door to door sales. Had to pay own bus fair too! Normally I'd have walked out but tbh I wasn't really sure what to do, so I stuck it out. Fotrabout 10 hours. THEN back to the office for the 'final interviews' where, again, they told me how I'd be a manager in a few months, my job title would be trainee manager, blah blah blah.... Oh, and they said I'd be 'self employed' - and that was a good thing because I'd be able to 'work when I wanted.' Realising by then that this was obviously dodgy, I got out whilst I could.
Googled WBW - they used to be DCM, who I see also have a very bad reputation. Anyway, anyone in Bournemouth area - ignore any jobs advertised by WBW! Whether they say 'receptionist' 'retail experience needed' or 'trainee manager', you will clearly be doing door to door sales.
anyone else have any experience with WBW/DCM? Are all these companies linked?0 -
Please amuse yourself. I would like everyone who has been affected to do the same, make sure everyone knows of how wasteful and disgusting this company is.

Dear JMS Marketing,
I would like to thank you so much for the opportunity that you gave me...the one that actually forced me into recognising my qualities and skills that I have earned and worked hard for my whole academic and working life.
Needless to say, the "opportunity" that you spam across all job sites, where hapless, desperate fools, brainwashed into submission from constant negative reverberations of this current credit crunch climate hyperbole, are instantly inspired as you encompass every possible area of the job world, is one of farce, despicable in nature, and fraudulent in pay.
I thought it would be kind and honourable of myself to update you with my progress, especially as I failed to return your many, forbearing calls. Looking for real and relevant experience, desirable to a graduate who has paid ALOT of money to be where she is, I have managed to find a fantastic opportunity in an actual business that deals with marketing and PR. As far as I remember, your shoddy excuse of an office hardly reflected the promising potential earnings of £1000000000 +, which any amoeba with half a cell (geddit?) could grasp that this could be somewhat of a ridiculous, exaggerated, extortionate? figure. Hence, it appears I am more developed than a microbe.
After weeks of research into your, ahem, company, I have racked up a considerable amount of data, especially via forum entries posted by your ex "employees" and those who managed a "quick" escape from the clutches of your slavish regime. This I have assembled into a wonderful presentation, as part of my writing and research portfolio. I will make sure, alongside my mailing list (I network don't you know), that you receive a copy of it, especially as you, and all your pseudonyms, are the stars of the show, so to speak. One smells a rat when someone can't sustain the same name once, twice, three, four.... how many times HAVE you actually changed it?
Pyramid selling is not a job, it's a ridiculous and unsustainable short term way of making a dishonest day's work. Masquerading behind a charity is unspeakable: charity is charity, not entitling the fat cats to fill their coffers. Paying a person 100% commission, for 10 hours work, 6 days a week with the promise to "raise your profile" within the Industry is not only exploitation, it's illegal.
Please let the "imposing" inarticulate idiot who "conducted" my final interview know that his tactics of pushing someone into a corner, especially some one of great diligence and intelligence, is not only reckless but also a bullying tactic that made me chuckle all the way home: <insert regional North East accent here>"who do you think you're talking to?"
So yes, Mr No-Name-because-I-couldn't-care-less-about-wasting-my-brain-to-even-evoke-the-first-letter, you will pick my CV up in 7 weeks, and yes she will be full of !!!!!!!!: the toxic !!!! that will not fertilise your plants.
If your establishment is so legitimate, I would love to aks, with utmost verve and passion, the probing question: why don't you advertise the actual duties that are required under the heading: 'Door to Door Sales, 100% commission, targeting Liverpool's lowest income areas.'
I wish you every success in your future endeavors, my only regret is I never got a chance to model one of those fetching red vests, shame.
L.

Hmm, yeh  I didn't speak to anybody today regarding an interview.
I really dislike these companies.
I had received a phone call from the Arcadia (phone number: 0121 633 8017) out of the blue and an email with "Purple Patch Resourcing" written in the yellow box
God I hate these b******s0 -

One that I keep coming across is MCC (Midlands Consulting Centre) who seem to pop up in every search section of the Reed website at the moment...
"Hospitality & Catering experience? You're perfect for Sales!"
"Graduate but still unemployed? You're perfect for Sales!"
"No experience? No problem! You're perfect for Sales!"
 ....... :wall:
Another bunch of pansies - I remember applying for one of the jobs under a legitimate-sounding job title and they !!!!!!!g made me run around for approximately 10/12 hours on the second phase of the 'interview' - even though I managed to get the phony job, I turned it down simply because it is full of s***0 -
Another one that is all over the job agencies, is FHM sales. Try googling them. The links seem to go to different companies, but one is Judith Grace Marketing in Ashford Kent.
My son applied, and has been doing door-door sales in effect, although apparently is a home energy consultant.
He's been working terribly long hours, and after 6 weeks has just received the princely sum of £65 for the first two weeks.
He's so thrilled that he got a job after nearly two years of JSA and applying everywhere, he's enjoying the sales, and despite our constant warnings, is still talking about 'progression' as if that makes up for getting no money.
We're still hoping he'll see the light soon.It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -

I hope so too - I even went to Midlands Consulting Centre for an interview and then I got the job but obviously I turned it down (but I was annoyed by the fact that it was a shabby door-to-door sales firm)
Oh well, I learned my lesson0 -
Blackrock Advertising in Bournemouth is another one of these companies. I wish I had checked out this website before I went for the interview and got myself all excited.
The job spec was sent through my uni emails advertisied as a graduate job! What a joke!
Luckily I saw this before I attended the second interview...
I didn't go through four years of uni to do door to door selling only getting paid commission!!0 -

basically, whoever your manager is invests money in you if you are exceptional enough to get to a management stage. DCM is based in Maidstone, and Parker Worldwide is based in Southampton. My team leader WAS exceptional and got promoted to management, but the most I ever made in a week over the course of nearly a year was £300, and I thought I was pretty good. Its hard to con people out of money and make them think they're getting a good deal when they could get someone else to do it for a third of the price. Hope this helps.0
