The weather is lovely and sunny so have been pottering around and eating more tomatoes from my bowl of ripening ones. Had another 12 today, but didn't eat them all!

My smilies are only showing as boxes too, must be a blip, though the special ones people have are working OK.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the day.

  • Thanks HJ. I am very grateful for all the help I receive, but when I am paying for a service which is stated clearly, I expect this to be met. You make it sound like I watch them on CCTV whilst they are working but this is not correct and isnt CCTV. Its a security system that has motion detectors and when someone comes in or out the front door, it films for 1 minute and in each room also. I can see clearly what time they enter and exit the house and thats about it really. They are well aware that I have the security system in place and if they felt uncomfortable or that it would affect their standard of work, then they shouldnt have taken the job on.

Sorry, I must be misunderstanding what you said in this post yesterday. My apologies.

With regards to my helper....I know she only did just over an hour as we have a security system/camera in each room which gets backed up to the computer and records 24/7. She is aware of this as I told her at the interview.

I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008
  • Just remembered:

Charlie's mum - I hope that the wedding goes really well tomorrow and that the sun shines on you all! Enjoy having your hair done and good luck finding some black trousers xx

Joannasmum - what good news, but I bet you feel like screaming after all the worry! Glad he'll soon be home with you and dd.

Well, I've reloaded the dw, how many cups were there around the bedrooms, though I have to confess that there were 4 in my room! And I've put on the dough for some more apple braids. Cottage pie mix is ready already, usually do it in the sc so was a bit surprised! Will def be removing some portions before I dish up, as last night's chilli all vanished thanks to oh and ds, and there was easily enough for 10 portions, good sized ones as well!

....... I pay very good money and expect the jobs I specify to be done to the standard that I would like. Yes....I am fussy on certain things but I do make this clear at interview stage. A list is given weekly of jobs I wish to be done (not a huge list) but many ATM are just being barely skimmed over and this really isnt good enough......

PenPin, why not start on a lower rate, with a bonus or extra bit per hour if the work is satisfactory? Do you have a "rota" for what needs doing & how often?

Don't worry HJ....you didn't misunderstand my post yesterday, I just didn't make it clear what I meant. The security system/cameras are on 24/7 but only click on and back up when the motion sensor goes off. Hope I've explained myself more clearly this time.

Hope you and the family are well.

Thanks Floss. I do that already and increase the hourly rate after 4 weeks. It's not really cleaning as such what she does but more jobs around the house that I find difficult to do. I have a list of jobs that get done on a rotation basis, so I am very organised like that.

Dont know if they are good for weight loss or for Cholesterol levels....should be though as they have Porridge oats in ;) .....I think everything in moderation is ok. Although I must admit moderation comes hard with these yummmmm

My little DGD should have started school yesterday, but she has some sort of infection and is covered in a rash, poor little mite. She was so excited too, O I wish we lived nearer, I want to give her a cuddle.

DS2 is on his way down to Malvern for the Van Fest show, he has a double pitch there every year and does quite well usually, I just hope he sells all the camper vans he has got ready, and the weather is kind to them all,its a huge show and really popular with all the VW enthusiasts.
He should be dry though, he has a one of those big things that look a bit like a marquee. IYKWIM
