Off to the vets in a bit so another expense just yearly jabs though so shouldnt be too bad. Need to phone the maths tutor later to finalise arrangments for DD1 just seems to be never ending again still no sign of a job getting really fed up now so will need to start making cutbacks soon in time for xmas
Hugs to all those who need them Have a good day0 -
Morning everyone, glad it's the weekend, might get to spend some time with DH, its his last shift tonight until Sunday. Looking forward to going to a friends house tomorrow night for supper and drinks, problem is though got to be up at 7am Sunday for bootsale so i will have to remain HALF SOBER!! LOL
DD went to CAB yesterday and they are going to sort out getting her payments reduced to her creditors while she is on her maternity benefit apart from her car finance which she has to keep paying. Anyway she has managed to cut her car insurance down to £50 a month instead of £90 by switching so she is happy with that. I nearly threw a fit yesterday when i discovered DD had decided to wash her large wool rug in the bath and used nearly a full bottle of stardrops, mind you it came up a treat but is currently outside over the wall trying to dry. DH nearly had a hernia trying to carry it downstairs!!!
Nothing much planned for today, will do liver, bacon and onions for lunch and have a look around a local second hand market this afternoon.
Betheebee hope everything is okay with your DH, thinking of you both
Have a good day!!0 -
Happy Birthday Mrs Mix :bdaycake: :bdaycake:
Gentle hug to betheebee

I have not read the comment yet but it does sound as if you need a better service than a somewhat slapdash approach because of your health.
Hope you get someone who can do this properly soon.
DD is still feeling sick so have got her in a "nest" on the couch watching "The Golden Compass" on dvd. Just about to get her a nice fleecy throw she can snuggle into and then go out to get her some lemonade to keep her fliud levels up.
Have phoned the school and there is a virus going round.
Need to try to do a few things before DD(19) goes back to uni but will try to work around the poorly one so she is not left alone!
Might make home made sweet potato burgers later as my 19 year old loves them and says they are better than Grassington's veggie quarter pounders which is quite a compliment.:o
Hugs to everyone and see you later - going to pop in on DD!"This site is addictive!"

mummysaver good luck and fingers crossed for her today x
Kathy The same thing happened with my Cholesterol,I was on statins anyway because its always been high, and when I told the Doctor I was taking a combined Evening Primrose oil and Fish oil, he told me to stop taking them for a month to see if there was any difference, and it went down 1.5 points. He said my levels must be hereditary.I dont take the EPO or Cod liver oil any more, and guess what, the joint pain from my arthiritis is'nt as bad, it has its moments but is a lot better than it was. But the aches in my hands are a lot better and I think is due to the knitting I have been doing, its good exercise for them. So I am not only helping the various charities I am helping myself, and getting a lot of enjoyment out of it too.Sorry Kathy I do seem to have rambled on
Ah well better go get some h/work done.
Back later
Anne

Happy Birthday to Mrs Mix - have a great day, Pam:bdaycake:
Pippa - your experience certainly confirms the effect cod liver oil can have on cholesterol levels. Mine is OK but I shall stop the cod liver and EPO I think. Mind, I say it's OK - I haven't been tested for a while. I do think they should have a warning on the containers of oil supplements just saying something like 'consult your doctor before taking these - they may raise your cholesterol level'. People think they're doing themselves good by taking them, don't they?
Beth - thinking of you and Ben.
Well, the BM has beeped so I'd better get on.

Good morning :hello:
had to try several times before I could access MSE this morning and there are a lot of smileys in peoples' posts showing as red crosses.
Beth and joannasmum - hope you both have good news today (((((HUGS)))))
Hester - hooray, so pleased to hear that you finally have the house to yourselves!
mrs_mix happy Birthday! :bdaycake: Hope you have a nice day.
Pippa - my DH has high cholesterol (I don't know how high mine is)and we've both been taking fish oil for our joints, for ages! Looks like we'd better stop! DH has already had to stop taking his daily Glucosamine as it may have been making his blood sugar higher. His joints do seem to be worse since he stopped taking it though.
Elona - Wishing your DD a speedy recovery
Sammyjig - hope your Dh had a good night and continues to improve. What a lot of poorly OHs there are atm!
Smokybabe - lovely to see you posting, you have been very busy! Sorry to hear your LO is still peeing on the bedrom carpet - I'm sure he isn't doing it to be naughty, as it were, it might be his way of showing his distress at losing his Daddy and will stop in time, with lots of cuddles and reassurance. ((((HUGS)))) I remember my friend's son driving her to distraction after his Gran (who had helped look after him after school every day) died, he was so naughty. I suggested that perhaps he was being naughty to show her that he was upset - she hadn't thought of that. I'm really sorry if this sounds as if I'm telling you what to do or anything, it isn't meant to.
I'm still sneezing and snuffling and coughing, hope it starts to clear up soon!
DH found the Diabetes session very interesting, though he had a sore back afterwards as he'd been sitting on a hard chair - there were some easy chairs, but he'd been afraid of falling asleep if he sat in one of those:D I told him to sit in one next time and if I see him dozing off I'll give him a nudge!
Not sure what dinner will be today, I've got a gammon joint and there's a portion of bolognese in the freezer. But we need to go to the butcher today anyway, for the weekend.
all for now, will try to pop back later.
Best wishes
ivyleaf xx0
