Hi,
I have been thinking of joining Sky for a few weeks now to get Sky sports in readiness for the football season.
Basically i want the cheapest way of getting Sky Sports 1+2.
A guy came round from an agency selling on behalf of Sky last night. He offered me a
Free Sky box,
Free installation,
£18 a month basic package
+ Sky Sports 1 for £9 and both Sky Sports channels 1+2 for £18.
So thats £36 per month for Sky. Is this the best deal for a new customer? because i thought it was good at the time and was considering taking him up on the offer.0 -
For anyone who is with virgin media, after canceling my package about 2 weeks ago retentions department called and offered me a £2 a month discount.
I refused this so they then offered me a £6 per month deduction off my line rental costs and a £10 per month rolling credit if i stay with them.
Better than nothing.0 -
Hi there
I called sky today asking to cancel and straight away the lady offered me half price on my TV package for the next 6 months. They couldn't reduce the broadband but then again I didn't continue to say I wanted to cancel.
Well chuffed!!! bill is now £31 instead of £50
I've got 4 entertainment, sky+, movies and broadband with sky0 -
With Virgin we were paying:
Telephone Line Rental : £11.99
Broadband L (10Mb) : £25.00
Paper Bill Charge : £1.25
TV Size: M : £00.00
Total : £38.24
Phoned them up about cancelling and managed to get:
Telephone Line Rental : £11.99
Broadband L (10Mb) : £25.00
TV Size: XL : £24.50
V+ HD Box
Additional Loyalty Discount : -£3.00
Triple Combo Pack Loyalty Discount : -£18.25
Total : £40.24 (Did have to pay £49 for V+ Hd setup cost)
Its a 12 month contract which can be renewed at the current price if i want to after.
Call 150 from your home phone though (If your with Virgin already). You get a quicker answer plus someone in the UK. Virgin worry more about people leaving than signing up.
Anyone know of a way to get the BB cost lower? I've tried but the TV cost will go up.0 -
I called this afternoon and spoke with retentions enquiring whether Sky have any promotions atm for line rental as I'm thinking of switching from BT to Sky, the gentleman I spoke with advised there wasn't but offered half price for our tv package (5 packs) for 6 months so paying £11 instead of £22. I'm really chuffed as I didn't expect this especially since I recently had 25% discount on the tv package which finished last month.0

Just got off the phone with Virgin, they're offering 10mb Broadband (L) with the XL tv package including movies, sports, HD and ESPN and the standard M phoneline for £73 a month plus £5.50 for an additional box and £30 for installation.
How does that sound? I think I'm currently paying almost £70/month just to sky for the full HD package and my box is 4 years old and not working at all well anymore.0 -
Hello All,
I have been with VM for the past 16mths and had no problems at all, thing is i am getting bored with the TV channels i have got.
Currently i have the lowest bundle of M TV, M phone and L broadband, this is the basic package.
I pay around £40 all in all each month for this package. This includes the line rental of £11.99 and calls, although we very very rarely use the phone, only for when my Wife calls her family in Thailand.
Anyway, i want to upgrade the TV to XL so my little boy can watch the cartoons and would also like to get the sports package.
Can anyone tell me if they have apackage similar to this and if they received any deals etc. On the website for the M phone L broadband and XL TV with sports they say it costs £56 + £11.99 line rental so £67.99 a month which is out of my price range unfortunatly. I am only able to afford around £40-£50 max per month.
If anyone could let me know any good deals they have got or any good bargaining tools i would very much appreciate it

Has anyone been with sky and threatened to cancel their subscription due to it being to expensive or are outwith warranty and the repair/call out charge being excesive and sky let them leave?
I have a large sky package which I enjoy with HD and 2 multirooms with one being sky+ and a full sports and movies pack. My Sky + hard rive seems to have failed and I need a repair/replacement but given I pay sky in the regions of £87 a month Im lothe to pay them any more therefore hoping a threat to cancel would get me a free repair.
Any thoughts or advise?0 -
Anyone else got their letter about an extra £3 per month increase next month?
