With thanks to people on this site I've found a website that shows every game worth watching live including Champions League. Last week I signed up to it and watched the early game Arsenal v Man U then I saw Pompey thrash Newcastle and then I watched the 5 .15 kick off, Blackburn v Liverpool all on my pc. Ok it's not HD quality but it's certainley watchable and very enjoyable when you say to yourself "all this for £7.95 a year". The site is called Netfootie.com and is UK based. I've just cancelled Sky Sports as they've lost the US PGA Tour golf and soccer was all I used to watch. I'm now on the basic package £16 + £5 for Sky Talk and free broadband, which is fine with me for now.
There's a couple of sites I use, with no cost. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Would you care to share their names with us novices?0

Great for watching the games that aren't allowed to be broadcast on UK TV, ie) the Saturday afternoon games. Great for watching any game.
OK with these, some are in real player, some windows media, and most others using other freely downloadable P2P TV player, such as Sopcast, TVAnts etc. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... Thanks to OBG I to have been offered Sky+ for £49 with free installation. Just waiting for an engineer to call now to organise the day. Cant say thank you enough but I didnt have to do any threatening and they recognised as a customer of 7 years that they wanted to keep me!

Hello all
Many apologies for the delay in my response to all of the PM's that I have received for the templates. My inbox was full which may have stopped a lot of the PM's from getting through. I'm working my way through them and answering all of your questions. I didn't think it would generate the response it has so what I will try to do is get through all of the PM's and then put up a quick guide to what I did, including the templates, at some point over the weekend.
There is of course no guarantee that this will work for everybody, however, I can attest to the fact that it definitely worked for me, at least two people on this forum, over 10 people on 'the other forum' and every single one of my friends that has tried it.
Just to be clear, the 'templates' came from my original emails of complaint, and have been heavily edited to keep it more generic and suitable for use by everybody. They can and should be edited as you see fit. I made 1 phone call to find out how much it would be to upgrade, didn't dispute the price and then immediately embarked on my email of complaint.
The template is not about asking for Sky+ for £49. It is essentially a complaint to Sky asking them to address why, as an existing customer, there is such a huge disparity between the £180 to simply upgrade from Sky Digital to Sky+ and the offer of Sky+ being installed for £49 as a method of customer retention to those who threaten to cancel their subscription. Of course, the by-product of this email/letter of complaint is that you are made the same offer at £49, but not because you are threatening to leave.
I hope this helps.OGB - Queen of Bling baby...:A0 -

I have been looking at sky + waiting for a deal for a couple of months.
I have the £17 package and nothing else
I approached a Sky salesperson standing in my local shopping centre and he quoted me £99 with no installation charge.
He then phoned up Sky and was told it was £149, I said no way, he then asked to speak to a superviser and was told £49, without any installation charge.
I was unsure why he quoted me a higher price that I accepted and then after speaking to Sky the price dropped. I know speaking to the supervisor is usually a con but it certainly shows that Sky are depserate to hang onto market share.
The installation is next week, I will post another message if they do honour the deal.
Also why do we have to be plugged into a telephone line, I disconnected my sky box years ago and it has never made any difference0 -
..Sky are depserate to hang onto market share..
What market "share"? Sky have total monopoly over the UK's satellite TV market. The only near-equivalent in the digital TV field would be cable, but that's hardly available to everyone. Yup, truth is Sky can do what they want, 'cause there's no competition for them.
The £49 with free installation is a retentions offer. Surprised you were given it without saying you want to cancel (or maybe you did?).
Btw, Sky won't generally whinge about you not connecting your phone line, unless you have multi-room.0 -

There's no competition as you say because no one wants to compete.
Remember Sky don't own any satellites, they only lease capacity, just the same as the BBC, ITV, Ch4 etc do, from either SES Astra or Eutelsat.
Sky just put together a subscription package and allows other broadcasters to be part of it.
There are 100s of channels on satellite they are Free To Air, there are 1000s of channels if you move your dish and haven't become Sky brainwashed. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc...
