I don't know if this the right place for asking this, but I just a letter/brochure today saying that NTL, Telewest, Virgin.net and Virgin Mobile are forming a new entertainment company called Virgin Media.
Did anyone else got this letter or heard about this?0 -

So in summary I retain my full package as is, I do not pay anything for February and March and only £10 for April. What poor John perhaps did not realise [or maybe he did] was that of course in April I will phone up to cancel, and I will.
Seems a good deal to me
You've really bucked the trend there Fellop. Looks like John is the man to ask for when phoning to cancel, or is this the start of Sky backing down on their no-offers policy??0 -
Hi there after having a brief look about after joining l plucked up thw courage to ring telewest and ask them to give me a better deal than what lm getting. Ihave supreme tv package broadband and line line total approx 46 quid a month l told them about all the offers thats about now and how come lve been with them for many years since they started in my area and ive always paid on time how come they give new customers good offers when 'faithful' ones like myself get nothing? So now my current package will cost me 40 quid a month l am to have 13 quid taking off my bill and although the tv package price is due to go up soon mine isnt
a small result but lm guaranteed l wont pay any extra for the next 18mths which will do me
going to make it my mission now to haggle any house hold bills : good luck all

I'm with Virgin Mobile and haven't heard anything about this, but did a quick search and found this info on Digital Spy. They're going for a launch date of 14th Feb. Also found this on The Independent web site.0 -

NTL took over Virgin Mobile last year and are going to rebrand themselves and Telewest under the Virgin name. expect to see some changes especially from the customer service side0 -
Anyone else had any luck getting a deal out of Sky? Only one member so far has reported success since the January deal cull...0

I cancelled yesterday and wasn't offered any deals...I only wanted it for the rugby and found another way of watching Guiness Premiership (much cheaper!) via broadband.
I was on half price for six months from 6 months ago, but they confirmed they weren't able to offer any deals.0 -
i've been on reduced now for 6 months and phoned today to see if they would extend it but with no joy. did get offered sky+ for £490

raeble wrote:It is a well known fact that if you phone up threatening to cancel Sky the cancellations department will offer you three months half price or something similar. Never pay for the maintence of the box because you can get them to fix it for free if it stops working and you phone up to cancel because of this. You may have to say you can't afford it or something. You do have to be firm in your intention to cancel, and slip into the conversation descretly what you are willing to accept and know what you are talking about. Of course you might get a miserable blighter who doesn't offer you anything. However every single time I have phoned up to cancel sky, they have offered me three months half price (about 5 times). I now no longer subscribe to sky but they have sent me a letter offering me three months half price if I re-subscribe for three months - trying to get their christmas figures up methinks.0
