My year with sky plus is now up and I don't want to have to pay £37 for the rest of my life!!
I do intend to cancel on September 1st to take effect October 1st.
If I were to go back what could I expect to get offered and more importantly will I have to take another 12 month contract again.
Been with them for years but got sky plus last summer. Also should I wait for them to phone or should I phone and how soon can I do it.
Was hoping to stick it out till nearer Xmas if the kids will let me!!I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!0 -
Offered 6 months half price until Feb 2007, on full Sky Sports package so instead of £36 a months its only £18 a month, might've actually cancelled but too good a deal to turn down, slightly surprised at them giving me this as thought current deal was 5 months half price but I'm not complaining!
Whats the best way to get a cheap Sky+ box off them at the moment?CARLISLE UNITED FC SUPPORTER

Well, it's finally happened, Sky + is no more. As from yesterday back to free channels only, and no call from Sky begging me to come back to them!!!

Well I decided to phone and cancel but I was outside the 40 day window!
Anyway after rejecting £27.25 for 6 months I was offered 6 months half price £18 instead of £37.
I had actually decided to cancel till about Xmas but never mind kids will be pleased.I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!0 -
I am a newbie, having never before had sky but thinking about it. Having read the leaflet, I am confused. I intend to take package for a year then stop subscribing and take what I get for nothing thereafter. Am I right to say that a Sky+ box can't be programmed to record stuff in the future unless I continue to subscribe? Or will it still do limited recording without a subscription?0

Sky+ will only play recorded programmes from channels you currently subscribe too.
I.e. if you record a movie while you pay for the movie channels, then cease to pay for these channels, then you cannot watch a pre recorded movie.
You cannot have recording facilty on free to air channels without paying sky £10 a month for the priviledge.0 -
I downgraded from the full package at the end of the footy season, with the intent of getting it again when it starts.
So I was paying £41 ish, down to £21. just off the phone and was offered 6 months at £5 a month so bit their hands off:D0 -
After much haggling I finally got Sky+ for £49.
Just a question. Just had it installed.
The engineer told me that it was the original sky+ box, the Pace 3000 (PVR1), (Silver box with black centre) with 20hrs recording facility.
Does that sound about right? I thought I may get a more up to date box but I suppose if they're giving you an offer price then it's going to be the older box.0 -
The PVr1 is a very old box. Maybe up to 4 years old, they should have told you when you signed up what box you were getting. The PVR3 has been out around 12 months maybe a little longer and the PVR2 for about 2 years.
Maybe you should give them a ring0 -
THanks everyone! Just got the £21 a month package on SKY for £10 a month for 6 months. The girl on the phone said I should try the same in 6 months time as "9 times out of 10 you'll get through to this department and we'll offer the same deal". Absolutely fantastic!!! £60 saved in time for Xmas!!!!
