Debate House Prices
In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non MoneySaving matters are no longer permitted. This includes wider debates about general house prices, the economy and politics. As a result, we have taken the decision to keep this board permanently closed, but it remains viewable for users who may find some useful information in it. Thank you for your understanding.

I know we all get wound up and say the odd thing we wish we never. (Not me obviously
)
But there do seem to be some people who are constantly posting, personal nasty comments on a regular basis (and even getting thanked for them!)
It would be nice for some of the stalwarts to stand up and comment on these as new posters must feel fairly threatened if they do not have the same view as certain people on here.
We know we have the grouches who do not get on !!!!!!, DD, carolt, PP and me in earlier posts.
But some of the posts are getting beyond a joke and to personal for my likening.
Is this workable?
What do you all think?

I agree it is sad to see people who used to take time to post researched and thoughtful
contributions, reduced to playground name calling.
(Surely giving the other person, who thinks you are an idiot, lots of group hugs would put them off.;))0 -
I'm trying to ignore all the name calling ones ATM.
I have in the past tried to report some posts but the system goes straight to outlook and I don't use that, don't know how to hange my internet setup and then wonder why I'm bothered anyway: I was initially repeatedly vociferous about the 'tone' of some threads, and then gave up. As was pointed out to me, I can stay and accept it or leave and not worry about it. I think it was a fair enough point, I have so far chosen to stay- obviously.
Some of the posters who are causng trouble also post really interesting stuff, I wouldn't want to see them gone, but this is getting TRUELY tiresome. When it got nasty before we used to divert to cheesecake or decking and it was kind of funny, but this behaviour is tiresome and unfunny.
I will hold my hand up to thanking some posts I wish I could only thank half of. I also sometimes than a point which I then challenge, (its logical to me because I'm thanking the point that made me think)
They are all goading each other as far as I can see, and each party feels unjustly treated by the other and in need to defend themselves.0 -
What about quoting them and posting ABUSE.
Maybe this will get them back on track?0 -

As I said, my set up is not making this possible currently, and I don't know how to change the set up.:o
anyway, who says I am right when offended?0 -
I think this board went downhill when a certain prolific poster arrived, who likes to single out and attack other posters. I don't know why those posters bother responding to him thoughRENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Well as this links in from the ignore thread, and 'ignore' has become the word of my day (....ha ha, wonder what my boss will thnik when I put it into action with him later)...I'd like to say "just IGNORE those who are offensive".. Skim read their posts, or even go as far as to ignore them with the ignore button...
In my opinion, those who bait are bad, but so are those who bite!
After all this is only the internet, who says what I'm typing is truly me and my opinion? Sometimes I'm in a grumpy antagonistic mood and take it out on whoever happens to be around on whatever forum. Conversely Sometimes I'm feelngn all huggy and nice, and in return give that out on forums too. Most of the time I'm just bored though and looking for some easy entertainment (which in some circumstances is privided by the baiting and biting).
The big lesson is DON'T TAKE IT PERSONALLY !!!!!!.0 -

Well here we go again:rolleyes: ; I think I stated that at the start what i am like! You are one of the people who constantly jumps on my posts without adding anything to the debate whatsoever.0 -

No I mean make a post underneath it just saying "abuse", no email just letting your feelings show.;)0 -
