pink_fairy - don't close the account (unless they force you to - in which case they would be in breach of the Banking Code (not worth using as toilet paper in my opinion). However, there is (at the moment) nothing that can be done if they do close it.

It's best to keep it open, maybe a pound in credit. It's getting harder and harder to get a current account in the UK at the moment - it may come in usefull in future years.

Or, indeed, if you continue to use it and incur more charges - your threat of court action may well be taken more seriously next time - they will KNOW you mean it and will not have to "test the water" to see how far you are prepared to take it!

I already have another bank account that i use now so thats not a problem - although i was hoping to keep it open for my husband to use - its a joint account as hes having a problem getting a bank account now.
they have already told me they will be closing the account when its been 'paid' - that was the letter that got me really in the fighting spirit!
  • Hi guys,

After 2 weeks and 2 letters to Woolwich I now have a final figure to claim for. Actually I have 2 figures; the first is for actual fees paid the other includes the 8%.

My question is that which figure do I claim for? Or is it that the 8% is only applicable if the case goes to court??

Also am I able to charge them an admin fee for my time and recourses to make this claim?

    Thanks in advance.

    I am flummoxed (sp?).

I have no idea - have you checked the 'junk mail' folder of the hotmail account - maybe it's gone in there?

Ok, I've taken email confirimation off now - so you should be able to log in - if not re-register (again - sorry!) and it should let you log on straight away.

I have no idea why it's not working for some people and is working for others (we've had about 20 new registrants today, so it must be working for some people - odd!)

    Not sure about that!

I thought something was going on today; the site has been hit LOTS of times today - a bit more than usual - just had a phone call from a friend and apparently it was featured in todays Sunday Express.

Aha!! Knew there had to be a reason ;-)
