Well that was a speedy response from MBNA.. Got my statements this morning, got a total of my charges and interest and are about to send them the letter giving them 14 days notice to pay or we are off to court.. 1 question though.. I am going to be clearing the balance and closing the card down within the next 14 days - am I best to wait until that all goes through before proceeding in case they try and put something on my credit file or should I just steam ahead.

There is nothing they can put on your credit file - if the card is cleared, then there can be no arrears. I would steam ahead. You have nothing to lose as long as if a payment date is due you at least pay the minimum before you clear the whole thing down.

Yes, if they have refused to give the money back within the time limit you set them in your initial letter.

Received this back within the last 5 mins.

Thank you for the e-mail, which has been passed to this office by the On-line Helpdesk.
I am sorry to learn that you are unhappy over the level of charges you have incurred on your Lloyds TSB account.

Under the circumstances, your e-mail has been passed on to the Manager of the Complaints Unit within Customer Care. I have asked that he notes your comments and issues raised and for a response to be sent you at the earliest opportunity.

    Regards
