Yes, TM = Team Manager. if you provide maka with the address details and time of call, possibly phone number they called you on, they should be able to find the call.

The report they mentioned was commissioned by centrica before the recent round of prie rises and mentioned 65%ish, but we've already seen between 24-35% rises, and as 1cs keeps mentioning, gas priecs are now only about 40% above this time last year.
Whatever you do, get off the standard tariff (with any supplier)

I await the usual BG apologists' (code word for employees) intervention with bated breath...
Well lets be honest, we await your posts in every BG thread that shows you clearly have a vendetta against them. We know you don't like them... boring... move along, nothing to see here :shhh:

Calls in any call centre are monitored for training purposes but are you seriously suggesting every single call should be monitored?

Another one comes out of the woodwork. This forum is crawling with energy company employees. :p Vendetta? No such thing, my posts are factually based on my actual experiences at being on the OTHER end of the telephone to you.

A bit presumptuous don't you think? Read my username backwards and you will see where I actually work.

So you had a bad experience with BG? I've had lots of trouble with Lloyds TSB. Doesn't mean I badger on about it in every thread about Lloyds TSB.

I had the same experience with a BG cold caller last night and I actually couldn't sleep last night because I am still so confused!

I am currently with npower and to be honest I have heard about the price increases etc. for a while but I have taken the view just to stick with it because I simply don't understand the whole fuel charging system. Now yesterday as soon as I get back from work I have this BG man telling me that there will definitely be an increase by January and I should change to BG and fix my prices until Sept 2011. He starting going on about different tiers, standard rates and I was trying to follow but my brain was scrambled by this point. He was a very good salesman and had an answer for everything as I almost went for the deal, I guess I'm probably being naive but fixing prices now when we are almost certain there is going to be another increase sounded too good to be true. I told him I wanted to check out some comparison sites but he took another 20 mins explaining how these are all cons and how they all live in Gibraltar and can get away with it :undecided.

I spent hours looking through loads of sites yesterday trying to figure out what to do as I'm worried about the prices going up, should I just stick with what I'm on and put my head back in the sand?!?

    Isla,
Despite his convincing sales patter on some things, you were obviously alerted to many lies that he spun you. It would make me very angry to be treated in this way over something so essential as heat and light.

My reaction would be to use one of the switching/comparison sites to seek out the cheapest online dual fuel deal for yourself.Avoid BG though as you can see they are completely untrustworthy.

I couldn't agree more :money: . And what raises my suspicions on here is I seem to get a slating for being negative about BG all the time from certain types, but if people on here were honest (and didn't work for them on a salary plus commission basis  ) then how many positive things CAN you say about a company like BG? Sorry to disappoint some of the posters on here but I'm going nowhere and will continue to say it like I see it - on BG or any other supplier/the Govt/the watchdog/people who work for energy companies (or RELATED business, mentioning no names  ) on here and don't declare it etc. If you don't want to read my posts there's a VERY simple method available to you.

OK, I'll try really hard and say something positive about them: Click 5, for me, at the moment, is the cheapest tariff on the market (having said that, if the 'new' figures for Gas that were mentioned on here are correct, then even this positive would be negated overnight)...

I'll give you a recent simple example. My father in law was and had been on BG's standard tariffs for gas and electric for a long time. I told him he could get it cheaper but he put it off and off. Finally,I said I would set him up with an online tariff and manage his account for him.He was well in credit on gas (£100) and about even on electricity.

I switched him to Click 5 being the current cheapest until they raise their prices. So you would expect his DD to stay the same or possibly go down given the expected savings.

He gets two separate letters putting up the gas by £6 per month and the electricity by £5.

OK there are likely to be rises on the way so its not worth the hassle of the argument, but it's just so illogical and in their favour.Annoying to say the least.
