So £24 worth of orders so far with hopefully 2 more orders to come (at least)

for the last brochure before xmas i was thinking of doing a prize draw...for every 5 or 10 pounds get a entry into the prize draw with a chance to win a prize (obviously lol)
i was thinking 3 prizes 1st one just a bottle of shower gel..2nd prize showe gel and a bubble bath ..the first prize so far i have the christmas lip balm, hand lotion, body lotion and face cream (the red ones)..what else?...i was going to put it in a basket with tissue paper then wrap in cellophane and ribbons :)
but i have no idea what else to put in it...or even if its a good idea :)
    any ideas please!

maybe the xmas table decoration you can get for about £1.50 in HT but really its best to see how much you get in orders beforehand so you know your budget..unless youre willing to pay out yourself etc

  • Well, feeling a little disheartened!
Out of the first 38 books I dropped on monday, only 8 people left them out for me to collect, and I only had one order worth $3! Not a good start for my first campaign i'd say! The books I dropped on monday were C17, and I have over 40 books from C18 so I might just drop those to my other roads tomorrow or friday, ahh well!

  • Thanks for the tip, Elliebee, but maybe am doing something wrong? By the time you add in the postage then they more or less double in price? Will wait and see how my Lidl bags cope - 6p a bag though seems a lot to pay.....

Actually, the bags that our customer order forms arrive in - whilst not perfect - are actually better than the ones we've bought to protect our books. If you open them carefully they do self-seal again (bit of a pain to put your books in though as the books can stick to the sealing glue if you're not careful). Every little helps though! ;)

I buy my bags in lots of 500, for which I paid just over £20 including p&p, so around 4p each, but it would be cheaper if you bought more. Just depends whether you are definitely going to continue doing Avon for a long time. I probably wouldn't recommend them for someone just starting out though.

The sale brochure bags are OK for books to flats and under-cover areas if you open them carefully by pulling the top apart ;)

Have never done the 'drop' route.... (never had enough brochures to be able to do it) - why not try knocking and asking if people are actually interested in looking at a brochure? If they say No you keep the book and get to ask someone else. At least that way you are in with half a chance of getting an order from your books because you've overcome the first hurdle of finding people at least willing to look.

Give it a try.... Being told No can't hurt you (just smile, thank them and walk away). Your books cost you money so why just fritter them away, wait a few days and see if you manage to get them back? Make them work for you.... but you have to ascertain the interested parties first.

Yes, am deffo not in your league yet.... Have increased my next order of books to 50 (only ever had 40 up until now) so only really need a small number at the mo. Will see how I go with the Lidl ones - actually they're quite big (11" x 10.5") - too big actually but am still learning.....

  • Well, let's just say I've never been asked to return the gift ;-)
Hello, not sure if i'd get away with this but I have some of the absynthe moneymaker to send back and was wondering if I could keep the bag and make-up? Don't think that I can do this but thought it would be worth asking:D
