Avon Hints and Tips (Part 2)

Hi all. I am half way through my first campaign with Avon (C16) and am really enjoying it. The lady who does the round across the road from me has decided to go back to work and is dropping her round. My ASM has offered it to me, saying that my hubby can be the named rep for the round as I already have one, and I can be his SL - paying teh £25 admin fee of course. She also has another new lady who is joining that I can add to my team so I would have 2 to start straight off.
My questions is what do you get in the free SL business pack? I am considering getting the new starter bag for £10 with the sanples (do you ALL get a free perfume, or is it luck of the draw?) - but dont want to get it if it is similar to wat is the the business pack?
Any hints or suggestions gratefully received - orders total £62.25 at the mo so not far off minimum order which needs to be in 14 Oct! :j
Thanks everyone!Kirsty, Taunton, xxx0 -
Are the U sets out of HT18? I thought you could only order 1 of any item out of it?
I know it seems really complicated at first, but it gets easier.....I promise;)
You can only buy 1 each of the demonstration products, but the special 'Moneymaker' offers, you can buy as many as you like (see p10 of HT17). There is no restriction on the clearance offers either (except that they tend to sell out).
I ordered 3 of the Bond Girl sets which I won't have to pay for until C17, and if they don't sell by then, I'll send them back anyway.'Better to ask a silly question than to make a silly mistake' Elliebee's Mum

I have a question. A new customer has asked me about a product she bought from a previous Avon rep last year. She wants the Advance Techniques Moisturising Anti Static Spray. I have looked for this product but it seems to be discontinued ( I have found it on Ebay and it says discontinued).
I was wondering if anyone knows when this product was discontinued? Or ( i know its unlikely!) if anyone has any they would be willing to sell?
Thanks again.
Hi,
You can put a wanted message on the avon website which other reps will see and will respond if they have it, either that or keep checking ebay. I am afraid I am new so don't have any.

Time for a change of subject, I think
Just got my HT18 - has anyone else noticed that there is a whole page of fixed discounts for C16  (for newbies, these are items for which you only get a derisory amount of commission - like £4.59 on the Royal Worcester Figurine selling at £54!). Shan't be pushing those then
Apart from being a total rip-off as we work just as hard to sell these items as anything else, it plays havoc with trying to calculate your commission!
Having said all that, if I didn't enjoy selling Avon, I would just go somewhere else!
Yes the fixed discounts will be a pain, I didn't sell any on my last campaign and ended up with a nice big fat 32% commission, which I am very happy with, oh yeah no one else has posted their commission yet? Anyone who has finished c15 tell me your commission please, it should be higher than 20-25% if you managed to save a few pounds here or there, to work it out, just add up all your sales, then minus all the avon costs and then work out the percentage, because I saved £10 through back ordering my commission went up from 25% to 32%!!

I use 2 books currently on 16 and 15 it also helps when trying new area's to use the older books.
I have offered a free gift with an order over £25 and is currently working.
No idea what gift to give yet any ideas please.....
Got my meeting tomorrow about SL and still not sure what to do.. May leave it a couple of more campains.
I'm doing that too! I just put a message in the box saying free gift with £25 spend but haven't worked out to use yet, although I am getting ideas so thanks. I will be out posting brochures tonight, I got 2 orders last night though for c16 so a good start considering I only collected 12 brochures in.

Thanks for the replies
The SL told me the date for ordering is 15th October, as you're ordering on Monday does that mean everyone has a different date?
Sorry for asking loads of questions, I'm just trying to get it straight in my head how everything works! I'm collecting my brochures back next week, I'm waiting to get my account number so I can start ordering online. Regarding the free gift idea - has anyone ordered the pack on 10 planners in HT18? They work out at 10p each and I thought would make an ideal free gift.
Lastly, is anyone ordering the bond girl perfume at £10? My SL has ordered 40 as she says it's going to be a big seller. I think you can send them back too if you don't sell them all, so you don't lose out.
Hi - yes we are all on different mailplans, your SL should have told you which one you are on, but if you are placing your first order on 15th I would guess you are on mailplan G, as I place mine the day before and am on mailplan F. All was explained by me a few pages ago, perhaps have a little read of the whole thread and it will help you understand everything.
I do intend to buy the planners as they are very cheap and good freebie idea. I also bought 3 of the moneymakers, hopefully they will sell but if not I will send them back, bar maybe one which I will use for christmas present, I love the freebie bag, mirror and lippie that comes with, total bargain!

AAAARGH!
Has anyone yet had the misfortune to have a customer service call dealt with by the new call centre?
Let me make clear that I have no problem whether the call centre is in the UK, India, Australia, or Outer flippin' Mongolia - all I ask is that the person I'm speaking to can understand and speak clear English.
I'm sure they'll be fine when the query is a simple one, but anything complicated is going to be a nightmare if neither can understand the other

Just delivered my first lot of brochures! Hope I've done it right though. The SL (or whatever she is!) gave me 7 C15 books and 8 C16 books, so I've given half the street C15 and half C16. I read that you have to order your brochures 2 campaigns ahead, which means I'll need to order C17 when I put my first order in, is that right? The SL said that if sales were a bit slow at first then she'd give me a 3rd lot of brochures. For the houses I've given C15 to, could I give them C16 next time, and then just order 10 or so C17 and rotate them like that? So I've got two books on the go - half the street on one brochure and the other half on the one behind? Or is it best to do them just 1 campaign at a time? Which means I'll have to order about 20 C17 brochures.
.
Hi,
when sales leaders sign up reps who are doing territory we are meant to give you 20 books for 2 campaigns, ridiculus to give you the amount she has! We are meant to give 20 as we get credited back for 20 books for 2 campaigns to cover cost of giving you books, so definitely ask for more asap!!
Plus which campaign are you about to place an order for 15 or 16? Is it 16 back ordering from 15? If its campaign 15 you are placing an order from you can't order form 16 unless its campaign 16 with back order from 15 if thats makes sense lol xx0 -

Nope luckily not so far, but have heard some people had their orders held phoned up to find out why and the foreign call centre people said as they had a balance on their accounts and asked them to pay it over the phone, only the balance they meant was for that order that they were holding lol x0 -
I am on my 1st 2 campaigns (15 + 16), and was given a territory, but told not to do about 7 of the houses as someone else is covering those!! Ok didnt mind that, but today went to collect books from a small cul de sac off one of my roads to be told that there is already some one doing it. Should i be miffed about this, surely if u are given an area of several roads, which has a few cul de sacs, u do those as well?? Why isnt the other rep doing the rest of the area then??(prob cos they never get any orders), I feel as tho i have been given the bottom of the barrell, with someone else cherry picking what they want to do.
not a good start:mad:0
