  • Not been on for a few days....lots of new stuff...... I have just submited my campaign 15 order, albeit a couple of hours later as I had PC problems. Calling avon tomorrow to check it out and make sure im ok..

At the moment, I have submitted quite a few things for credit but I'm not sure if they have all been credited to me as requested, some items never turned up, so I claimed and not been credited as I cant return them! (lol thats the way it feels!)

Would advise everyone to keep a close eye on that one

Campaign 15 went well with new territory and looking forward to 16, books are definately getting better, and my christmas shopping is going well.

Re the Sales Leader (SL) discussion - it was mentioned on previous thread that it might be useful to have a seperate thread for issues and tips relating to this? Its obvious that a rep role and a SL role is different and different issues apply to each? Can always add a link to the initial post for the SL discussion? Its maybe just an overload of information for the one thread?

Well, the way I see it, two threads wouldn't work. Just because something is more relevant to sales leaders, doesn't necessarily make it not relevant to everyone else. There is also the fact that some start as reps then become sales leaders. And with two threads some information will end up on one thread and not the other, and that people will watch one thread and not the other. Many of the questions here are most easily answered by a sales leader - things like ASM contact details - these can't be answered if the sales leaders are off on another thread.

If people are peed off with my sales leader talk all they have to do is say politely - and privately would have been nice as well - I'll do it elsewhere! I mean, it does seem weird to me that I've had people behaving as though somehow sales leader talk should be excluded from this thread the same day that I've had two PMs thanking me for the same thing - it is of interest and value to many reps, even if it isn't to everyone. We all have to skip past what isn't relevant to us, and having separate rep and sales leader threads isn't going to change that one jolt.
  • Fair point, Silver. Perhaps, more to the point there should be a separate thread for the hints and tips? Even then though, there would probably be some overlap, so it may not work. Avon is way too popular, that's the problem LOL!

  • I used to write a lot on this thread and i still read it everyday and i cant see why there is such an issue on whether or not we should have SL comments etc. It's all AVON!! Im just a rep so SL stuff isnt relevant to me but i still like to read it and it doesn't take a great deal of effort to skim through and ignore bits.
On the Hints and Tips front i think that if you read the entire thread (and the old one) you will see loads of tips and it may get to the point where we just repeat everything. I think its really nice that people are free to talk about SL stuff, their current business, share a tip or ask a question.
Lets keep this thread a free forum to discuss all aspects of our avon businesses!! xxxxxxxxxx

  • Hi everyone,

I placed my first campaign order this week, which should arrive on tuesday, and today I was able to see my invoice online and work out how much it cost and what my commission is. I was over the 25% commission threshold but I didn't make 25% and I challenge everyone on here to work out exactly what your commission was. The way I did it was to add up all total sales from customers, which came to £183.50 and then deduct exactly how much each item cost me to purchase from avon which came to £125.47, that is a difference of £58.03, so that is how much commission I made this campaign but the percentage is much better than 25%, my commission is.....

    32%!!!!

I am very happy with that commission figure, and I believe the reason is the back and future ordering I did as I was able to save over £10 by purchasing from different brochures, if we all do this, which I believe we do, then we are actually making a higher commission than we all think, we always say we make 25% but it's actually higher. Now obviously there is the cost of brochures on top which comes out of our commission, but it always did even when we thought we were getting only 20% or 25% commission.

Anyways, how much commission did you all make in campaign 15, share?!!

    Thanks

You go girl! I've still got 10 days of C15 left but I'll let you know!
  • I think it would be nice if when someone notices a way to get freebies etc from each campaign to share it on here.
I haven't looked through the new books properly yet so don't know the possibilities.

My camp 15 order came to £374 and i made £83 commission.
    Well done everyone else.
I also buy at least 3 packs of the next book so it comes out of this commission and i don't have them all coming out of one. They are also there for me to have a peek...

I have already gotten the ball rolling on that blackwidowz, check out my post 329, but here it is anyway again:
    *Blusher brush £5.50 in C15 - £4.00 in C14 (£1.50 saved)
*Read my lips lipgloss £3 in C15 and Pencil play eyeliner £2.50 in C15 - deal in c14 by one get another for £1 = £1.50 saving (this works across the whole range, they are from the cheap make-up for teenagers, not sure what it's called I am afraid.)
*Cleansing pads £4 in C14, SOS body lotion £5 in C15, SOS face cream 50p in C15 (deal) - buy all three for £5 in C14 (£4.50 saved)
    * Christian Lacroix Noir = £14 in C14 (£10.50 trade price at higher commission rate). You can purchase a set in HT14 at £10.50 but includes 2 free christian lacroix items.
    * 2x Makaila Bags £16 in C15 (£8 each) - £15 for 2 in C14 (£1 saved)

They are all the ways I saved money in the last campaign.

  • I had a really poor c15 - probably because of my severe lack of effort - commission was less then £30 plus I had spent around £25 on ht & clearance so I can offer free gifts lol!!

any way my hours at work have been reduced so i will have a bit more time to dedicate to avon - I am goin to start using my brochures twice - this weekend i will be delivering my c15 orders & re-distributing these books to some other houses in my area, at the same time as giving out new c16 brochures! i really hope sales improve - even slightly! i have even made out a list of brochure highlights with delivery slips & have asked customers to leave books outside so I dont disturb!

i only order 15 of each brochure at the mo - so any idea how many more i should start ordering? I suppose it depends on how sucessful this re-canvassing is!!:T

thanks for all the comments, hints & tips - i am just a rep but love to read the sl stuff so keep it up girlies xx:j
  • Hi,

I only found this thread (through my boyfriend lol) a few days ago and have read through the posts and have actually got some good tips, which I plan to put into action.

I only have 2 streets, of which I have only canvassed half of 1 at the moment, I have 4 other houses left then I’m trying the other street which is main road at the back of me which my area rep has given me as my territory.

I have been doing Avon on and off for about 9 years but always come back to for 1 reason, to get me out of the house J

I have done 3 campaigns so far this time round and started off with 2 people ordering from me which is what swayed me into re-canvassing really, I did a newsletter from my first campaign (13) and at the bottom put a few questions for my customers, such as what products they like and what they think of the newsletter (i.e. interesting, more info on upcoming products etc.) so I can give them the information they want. My first 2 customers filled them in and it helped me to give them more information. I did a word search last campaign and offered a chance to win a mystery gift of 1 of 10 products (from the clearance), I had 1 person do the word search but I only gave books to 8 customers, I will be doing similar in future.

I also put in the newsletter that if they pre-ordered the new Bond Girl 007 coming up in campaign they would receive £1.50 discount of the full brochure price and a free sample next campaign, these means I can order them from Link 17 (using the money maker) plus a couple extra (for Christmas pressies) without making a loss.

Just a few tips ask anyone you know, friends family, work if they would like a book or know anyone who would, they are your strongest leads to new customers if you don’t want the hassle of re-canvassing and possibly losing books, especially if you only want a small customer base, I am considering taking a book to my hairdresser as someone else has mentioned.

Any other hints would be much appreciated J
