Avon Hints and Tips (Part 2)

Hi Ian
I am female but did you know that currently one of Avon's most successful sales leaders is male? Google Dave Carter Avon and you can find lots about him.
When I put a book through for the first time I put a label on that basically says:I will collect this book on .......... if this is not convenient please leave it outside.
If you do not wish to see further books please write your house number here....
and leave your book out as normal, so I do not disturb you in future.I get nearly all of my books back this way as people who don't want one leave it out to tell me they don't want them! Otherwise I suspect a lot of people just throw them out.
Building up a team is tricky, I'm trying to do the same at the moment. I door knock on roads that I know aren't covered (ask your ASM for a list of them) and stand outside Tesco asking people if they'd like to earn extra money for Christmas. I am also planning to blitz the local university campus next week - lets face it, Avon is the perfect student job!
There is also a website called flissys.com, it is £10 per year but you can get a free 2-week trial. You can buy leads off there for £3-6 each (they are listed by the first part of the postcode) though I've never actually had leads off there myself so I don't know how good they are. There is also a forum (and a few male sales leaders are on there!) and document library that is very helpful, although a lot of moaning goes on there, you'd be forgiven for thinking that nothing in Avon ever actually goes right!0 -
Hi Guys
I have just completed my first camp 15 got £157.50 worth of orders so pleased with that. Now starting on camp 16 and been given an extra road to canvass. My only problem is that I now have about 180 houses to get round. I have noticed that some people do not leave the books outside as requested and they dont like you knocking on the door to get them back. I am now going to place a slip in the books asking if they still want me to drop a book off, if not then I wont bother with them again.
Cheers guys.....Ian
Hi Ian - welcome
I would give people a few campaigns to get used to you. I've had people order for the first time after having the books for months. If you check back and find that they've never returned a book over 3 or 4 campaigns, then I think you can probably draw the conclusion that they don't want it delivered. I put a note on my books the first time I delivered saying something like 'Im delivering to every house to start with, but if you don't want a brochure tick here and put your door number' (that's obviously paraphrased, but you get the idea). It's worth re-canvassing, using your old books, once in a while though'Better to ask a silly question than to make a silly mistake' Elliebee's Mum

is flissys just for sl or can reps join?0
-
It is designed for sales leaders, and mostly it is sales-leader orientated, but if you are considering becoming a sales leader it is probably useful, as a rep, maybe less so, but I guess it depends! Best thing to do is email Flissy herself and ask if you can join as a rep! I will pm you her email address.0

Anyone can join, you don't need permission to join as a rep but it won't be as useful if you don't plan to be a sales leader, I am just a rep, but I joined because I want to be a sales leader someday, just go to flissys.com and sign up, simple as that, its a free trial for 2 weeks anyway.

Just in case anyone was relying on it, the starter kit (the one with the bag, samples and 2 full-size products for £10) no longer contains a bottle of Christian Lacroix Rouge but a bottle of U by Ungaro instead. So if your customer orders Rouge you will have to order it as usual, I'm afraid!0

U for her, I think. I doubt it would be the one for men, the mens ones have just never sold as well. The one for women is the one that Avon are really pushing right now, it's kind of replaced Rouge in that respect. I doubt BondGirl will usurp it, either, because it has a lower selling price and as far as I know hasn't had a TV ad.0 -
Bond Girl has a TV add, it will be going live in October
my ASM told me she saw it other night at a meeting and she thinks its really good cos it has the leading lady from the bond film instead of Reese
Proud to be dealing with my debts
