Sounds like it's going quite well for you with customers building up nicely :T
The higher your customer base, the more chance you have of orders - if one doesn't order, another will, so keep up the good work!
Ha Ha I see what you mean Elliebee. So has no-one had their competition cards then?? I wonder why that is. Do you think they did not expect such a big response to the competition and did not get enough for everyone or do you think they just forget to put them in??
Yes Ellibee my customer base is building up nicely. Have had another order from a customer, who didn't order first time, for £25. Still waiting for my sister's big order (she wants loads of stuff), an order from a friend (who is going to show the book to her friend as well) and still got to pick up those 30 books from people who didn't order last time tomorrow night. So I still might get that £300 order I was hoping for.
I was thinking about putting an ad in my local supermarket and post office saying something like "if you like Avon and haven't got a rep just give me a ring and I will drop you a book round". The only thing is I know there are reps round here that do different streets and don't want to offend any of them or pinch any of their customers. What do you think?0 -
My apologies if I am posting in the wrong area. I have already posted in the Up your Income section (not this thread), but felt I needed to be in the actual Avon thread itself.
Hope I dont get anyones back up by doing this.
I am not a rep, but have been buying a few products online for a very small group of us at work due to having several reps one by one decide to no longer do Avon. There were a lot of us ordering stuff from the reps, but as none of us in our smaller group wanted the responsibility, rather than lose out completely we decided to just stick to 5 in our group. Our orders are very small, so obviously not worth one of us signing up as a rep. At present, I just go online and order whatever items we want (some orders just £5 and others can be £40).
I have had my latest order delievered yesterday, along with the next brochure. I have discovered that one of the fitness products ordered is £5 cheaper in the next campaign. If it was just 50p or even a quid, I probably would not be bothered, but with it being £5 I suspect my friend will be wanting to return it and buy it from the next campaign.
Can we do that? Can I simply return it, and then order it again in the next brochure? Looking at the reason codes on the form, do I just use the code "Value for money" - whatever that means?
I know you are all mostly reps on here, but hoping you can help me anyhow.
Thanks!0 -
I've been thinking about asking in the local businesses if they would like a book. I'm not sure how to go about it though... I'm not sure they would let me leave books in the places as were not that close a community round here (despite being friendly scousers!) and places like my hairdresser have their own hair product concession thing inside/nail bar/waxing/facials etc so i doubt they'd want their customers buying avon shampoo etc which is at least £5 a bottle cheaper or doing their own nails/facials etc !!!!! :rotfl:
I need to make it not just about earning money for me so they dont think they are just doing ME a favour... but I dont want to give them "cash" commission as such, but i was thinking about saying any orders i get from them 10% will go to charity... but i wouldnt know how to go about that.... what would be the tax implications for both of us? Would i send the cheque to the charity direct and ask for a receipt to show the business?

I was also thinking about going to my local industrial estate as it's not too far from here. We have a Capita (call centre) down the road and other warehouses. But I'm working full time now and don't know if they are open on Saturdays. I was thinking of going in the front office and asking if they minded if I left an Avon book or 2 in the canteen or somewhere like that, and go back the next Saturday to pick them up. But like you and Buffy it's plucking up the courage. I am ok at putting ads in local shops as I go in there regularly. I have asked my am for more territory as I only have 125 houses at the moment.0 -

Hi Shelle
I shouldn't think you would get anyone's back up asking here. We are friendly enough. It's a shame the reps didn't keep on repping and you have to do it that way. I would think it would not be a problem with you sending the item back and ordering it again cheaper. Do you have to pay postage for returns or does your delivery driver pick them up?
Thanks

The parcel included a returns label that allows free postage, so I can easily send it back in the post.
I wasnt sure what reason code to use though, but value for money seems to suggest to me that not happy with price (although I would have thought you know what price you are buying it at??) Other reason code I thought was disatisfied as it does not ask for details.
We have had 3 reps in a row, after a rep that we had for 2 years gave up, but each suceeding one has only lasted between 2 and 6 months. After suffering withdrawal symptoms, we decided to just order for 5 of us so are happy bunnies again:j0 -
That's good that you can send it back free of charge. I should think either code would be fine, Value for money or dissatisfied.
Glad you are happy ordering the way you do and it's a good idea if reps keep leaving all the time. Saves you being disappointed.
Hope I have helped.

Shelle Im a rep and ordered stuff through the customer site the other day as it was cheaper for me (a list account loyalty points!) and also got some items that were showing as out of stock for my customers so as not to disapoint them but then the items turned up in my rep order! I dont need 2 spare kaftans in a size 16-22 that cost me £4 each specially when im only a 10 so will be sending them back using the "other" reason probably! So even us reps do it! lol0

It's me again! Just put all my orders onto the site last night (saved them but haven't gone any further as may have some orders at work tomorrow) - for the items that are on offer where you get a second item for 50p, or 4 for £5 - if you type into the site in order will it automatically know to do the offer?
Managed to work out back/current campaign ordering to make a bit extra money - up to about an extra £10, so pretty pleased with myselfAvon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0
