I've just had a customer try to call me, at 10 at night! Thankfully I had the sense not to answer. 10pm! I ain't Tescos!

Kerriebaby - that's harsh news. Do go and get your books though, if anyone has told you that you can't they're wrong. They're your books and you're entitled to retrieve them. If you happen to get an order - great! Plus, when you knock on the doors to get your books back / or (hopefully) deliver an order - tell the customer that you won't be around again because apparently the street is already covered. You never know, they may tell you they haven't seen an Avon lady for months - if so, tell your manager. If they're any good they'll take the streets away from someone who's not bothering to cover them.

:grouphug: Are you able to use the bus and just do it at the weekends? You'd have to order more books to do it this way but it may be an option if you're desperate. It's not so easy to go back to collect books that way, so you'd have to go armed with calling cards saying "I came to collect your book today, contact me if you would like to place an order", and just drop them through if you can't get the books back.
Otherwise, keep in touch with the manager at least every month, checking if there's any new area free nearer you.
Hope the situation improves for you soon, I'd be fuming too if that happened to me.

I was told that I cant, as its classed as theft!

Re. managers - so far mine's been fab, but saying that, we've never gotten round to doing the last 1 hour visit, and I'm still waiting for my free product from her for getting over £150 on my first campaign.

    Just triple checking..
MOV includes every single thing you've ordered, yes?
MOV goes on the Customer price, not the cost to you price, yes?

Just wanna make sure.. I want more of the new rep prizes!

I sold over £400 on my first campaign and was told I would receive a free eye cream. (the £10 one)

Here I am a year later and I never did receive it and that was after contacting my area manager twice and contacting avon as well.

In the end I gave up but it is bad to promise something and then not supply product.
    Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £60
  • Jo - as you say, the Naturals range is popular but TBH I usually cap my spend at around £1 (or £1.25 before commission). Body lotions and shower gels are favourite. Some of mine cost 50p, cheapskate that I am :D

Sorry if I'm repeating any but here are some C18 vs C17 savers I've found so far...

C18 (pg 39/40/41/49) Misc make-up £4-£10 vs 2 for £10 in C17 (pg 54-61) - great for me as a customer has ordered the £10 cream to powder foundation so I'm instantly up £5!
    C18 (pg 180) Warming wheat bottle £10 vs £9 in C17 (pg 179)
    C18 (pg 218) Story telling Santa £25 vs £20 with £7.50 spend in C17 (pg 242)
HT2 perfume samples inc Bond Girl & U are BOGOF in HT1

    plus

I've had 2 people order the glitter lip gloss on C18 (pg 59) so have bagged myself a freebie for MINUS £1 as they are £3 each or 3 for £5 :) or you could stick with 2 and get the free clutch bag from C17.
C18 (pg 4-13) 2 for £8/3 for £10 is good unless you get an awkward number that includes something from the C17 (pg 70-75) 2 for £7
C18 (pg 128-130) 3 for £5 offer is better than C17 generally unless you have an odd number like 7, as they are half price in C17 so you can make a bit there
C18 (pg 156-161) 2 for £5/3 for £6 as above as SSS stragglers can be half price in C17 (pg 154)

and possible higher value free gifts for very good customers...

    C18 (pg 128) SOS body lotion £5 each or 3 for £5
    C18 (pg 130) clarifying colour £5 each or 3 for £5

I hope that helps somebody else along the way.

I haven't been offered a new rep prize either from my ASM so perhaps it's just an individual ASM thing but I am trying for the iNRDP incentives for award sales during LOA available to internet users.

I was going to buy the naturals on 4 for £5 offer in C1 which after commission works out at 4 for £3.75 equiv 94p each ;)

i was contemplating ordering them from C17 when on a better offer but i held off cos i couldnt make my mind up how many to buy and id hit my personal "limit" to how much non discounted stuff im allowing myself to buy each campaign too :o :rotfl:

I liked the idea mentioned on here somewhere of NOT buying clearance as gifts (unless you know its just a change in the packaging etc) so that if the customers really likes it they like it they can order it again generating more sales ;)
  • BLIMEY! I'M IN SHOCK!!!!! I've got a birthday card from Avon - that's a new innovation - they must be making too much money out of us :p

This morning I also got my state pension (not much but it {just} pays the bills); my winter fuel payment (£125); my annual private pension with NO TAX DEDUCTED (about the only good thing about turning 65 is that your tax allowance goes up ;)) , so not having a bad day so far.

Having said that, with apologies to the guys on here, the blokes just don't 'get it' do they. OH genuinely couldn't understand why I said 'don't bother' when he said (after I'd opened the cards already here) 'I'm getting your card when I go round for the paper'. Probably best go with him - then he can choose a card, show me, put it back on the rack and give me the money :rolleyes2 . Oh well, after 46 years I guess I'll keep him!!!

I thought better of buying clearance products as gifts for that very reason. If someone gave me a gift with order which I really liked and wanted to order more only to be told it had been discontinued i would be a bit miffed even though it was a freebie. I have stuck to ordering catalogue staples when on offer i.e 5 for £5 etc. I guess there are 2 bonuses, if the customer likes it and wants more they can buy it and also by the time they get the next book and the offer is over they might think that their freebie is worth more than I paid.......maybe!! Then (hopefully) think what a nice Avon rep giving things like that as a thank-you!! I can but hope!!;)
Debt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!
:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY
    ELLIBEE!!!
    :bdaycake:

Hope you get all you want - apart from the card from OH. I agree, they're useless. Last year my card was sneaked into the supermarket shop (which I PAY FOR!!!!) at 7pm on my beirthday evening. Doesn't it say it all that I was doing a supermarket shop on my birthday?! I had to, 'cos I hadn't got anything in, stupidly hoping he was gonna take me out... oh well, I'm keeping mine too, I love him really!
