scared0016.gif Afternoon Everyone....peeping out from behind the sofa to say "Watch out for holes in swiss cheese!" IMHO the universe has already done it's best to silence Hawkin... but he got that computer voice fitted.... I was definately in the scared sh1tless camp this morning - and I understand that switching the darn thing on was just the beginning. I'm a tad oversensitive about the end of the world, being bought up as a child in a religion that was relying on it!

It's a great shame really all the money invested in the project couldn't have gone on something more worthwhile, like solving the real problems in the world, poverty, hunger, Aids etc, not to mention global warming and the melting of the polar ice caps.

Anyway...despite my fears that the world might end...I put a new washing machine on my CC this morning... I will die in debt, but with clean knickers. OH and I nearly killed ourselves anyway getting the dead machine out of the house (basment, up a flight of stairs) but managed to get the replacement IN with less trouble and the help of our 18 yr old daughter and one of the neighbours. First load is on as we speak.

I've started trying to read through the thread each morning, and join in, as the American Forum I usually haunt is getting a bit entangled in the politics there at the moment...so I'm seeking consolation and moral support closer to home ;)

My 16 Yr Old son is in bed with the flu/sick having been back at school in the sixth form for just three days (contagious little lurgy buckets)

My Middle Daughter is off to Uni in about 10 days....

Dinner tonight will be pasta and a HM tomato sauce.

    Regards

    Kate

    Afternoon all,

Happy birthday PenPin and all others who share the distinction of having the same birthday:bdaycake:

Went to my favourite charity shop this am and got several books I haven't read before, about a kilo of wool and a pair of curtains which will be nice on the landing window...all for the princely sum of €13!

OH slept late but seems a bit better to-day, not doing anything except hanging around watching tv can't even urge him to go for a walk as it is pelting rain here at present, its cold and blowing a gale...wonderful!

Stew for dinner to-night, OH will have pork chop which has been lurking in the freezer as he doesn't like stew....who can't like stew?? Might make an apple sponge in the microwave (no proper oven atm) to smother in custard...really good for weight loss don't you know!

Clothes once more draped around the house, glad I got bedlinen and towels almost dry outside yesterday, does washing breed or is it just here that everyone seems to change all their clothes half a dozen times a day?

    Twink...hugs

Hugs to all in need or want...congratulations to all who are celebrating, especially Troo....why are you going to settle for less than BK....even if you are not qualified and she is, if you are going to be doing the same work IMHO you deserve the same money.

Hi and welcome to Katieowl and Simone - you'll have fun here!

Pippa - it's great to see your boobhound as your avatar! I must change mine now because it has a ladybird on it - I'll do that in a minute. I now have to decide what to knit next - I know, I'll do a bib.

With DH in and out of the house like a yoyo these last couple of days, I've not had much time to myself to relax. Still, I've typed up the last of four quotes this week which he is hand-delivering because they are all going to the same place. Oh, yes, I almost forgot - he came back this morning and casually told he he was flashed by the speed camera - in MY car! I was so cross with him; he was doing 40 in a 30 zone so it's his own fault. He let me moan and then reminded me of the incident last year, after he had driven us through France, Italy, Switzerland, Litchenstein, Germany and Austria without any damage and, as soon as I get back into the car, I pranged it trying to get it out of the drive! That stopped me moaning, obviously!

(((Hugs))) to the Lame Wolves - hope you both feel better soon!

Well, after my complaint about the weather forecasters and their lies yesterday, they have finally come up with the goods and the sun is shining and I've got washing on the line so I'm a happy bunny at the moment. Plus the onion soup I made in the Remoska was delicious and there's loads left to go in the freezer.

    I've still got smileys, too!

Well, I'd better go and get something constructive done.

    Afternoon peeps
i`ve just finished reading yesterdays thread and finally caught up with todays now too, day off today and i`m soooo glad, i`ve had no time to myself for the last three days as w*rk has been really busy.

It`s our 14th wedding anniversary today and Mr Sunnyday bought a card and then managed to lose it on the way home  , we won`t be doing anything special to celebrate as MrS is working and we are skint. Holidays soon though so that will be our gift to each other - only ten more sleeps until we go :j

This morning i`ve started off two more demi johns of wine and i`ve another which is ready for bottling. I popped out for some more ingredients and also bought 2 13.5 tog single quilts for the houndies for a fiver each from Morrisons so i`m really pleased with that, the little oldie feels the cold and the heating will not be going on for a good while yet.

The washing is out on the line, i put it out around 8 this morning so will be out shortly checking to see if it`s dried.

I`m going to look for a recipe for a salad terrine that i`ve mislaid shortly too when i find it i shall try making it in the remoska so fingers crossed.

Happy Birthday Penny Pincher :bdaycake: have a lovely day.

Beth - ((((HUGS)))) for your Dgd - how awful, good that the culprits are caught!

Troo - Congratulations!:D i would write up a nice list of the savings that you have made for the company over the years and use that to negotiate a nice wage.

    Catch up later guys.

Managed to get a new washing line so will get DH to sort it out later - I hate heights!!!!

Went to charity shop and got "The Waxman Murders " by Paul Doherty which I have been dying to read for 50p!!!!:j

Lugged home some more fruit and veg and can't face making HM burgers as I feel really sick (think I might have a virus).

Will do home made veggie rice instead and might go upstairs with some tea and a book and just rest after tea is made.

    Happy aniversery to the Sunnydays

Well, got another rejection letter today, still its keeping my shredder busy :D. Have another interview on Friday though.

As I was feeling a bit down I decided to think about things I am good at, or well, used to be, have uploaded some photos on to FB of when I used to make national costumes it cheered me up.

Making a sausagemeat plait tonight, have got the pastry and sausagemeat in the fridge, just a matter of putting them together. OH is not sure if hes home or not, if he isn't I will just cook it and freeze it for another time, can always find an oddment for me in the freezer :rotfl:

Off to do some wii fit - still can't do balance games  but getting good at step.

    afternoon!

2 lots of good news here - 1st DS2s bus pass has finally arrived:j no more forking out for the bus!
2nd - I got a letter this morning and it looks like my hysterectomy is off:j They retested my original samples and decided they weren't as bad as they first thought and the second lot of tests confirmed this so now I have got to be retested in 6 months time. I'm off to talk to my doc about this as soon as I can - he said he was a bit mystified about why they were talking about a hysterectomy if the results werent clear. I'm a bit cross that its taken them since last November to sort this out! had been thinking all I'd got the dreaded big C now it looks like I havent! watch this space next year!:D
