If it really all bothers you that much the car is an astra. So what asvice can you give as clearly it is such a hassle not knowing what the model/make is.
I asked for help. I dinn't want to state the make/model for reasons already mentioned however apparently the help is all one sided and I am in the wrong for doing this! I didn't come on here to be flamed and attacked I simply asked questions! A broken gearbox quite simply is that! (broken) it doesn't matter if the gearbox is off an astra or a TR7 (sorry pullip) I would have kept this thread updated with any info we had recieved.
I can almost guarentee that no one on this forum has the same car as there was only ever 4 made!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

well i can almost garauntee you should have went to a legal forum, not a motoring forum, sometimes its nice to know what you are dealing with.
well its an astra so its way out of my league then.
can't be a 888 as they made 100 of these or a nurbugring thing as they made 835 of these....work permit granted!0 -
well the 888 is made by thurblys not vx they just us astra 1.9cdti sri xp's has base for the 888/STEALTH Edition's and the Astra Nurburgring is justcosmeticly different to the stanard vxr so rules them two out
and there are only 3 performance
888/STEALTH Edition's
Nurburgring
VXR

i would try the astra owner club (aoc)becuse they will tell you want the fault is ,how to fix it and tell you how to get vx to fix it http://www.astraownersclub.com/vb/there or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0 -
RustyFlange wrote: »There is nothing more than I have stated above. There however is no need to put the make and model of the vehicle. The gearbox has a known fault yet the manufacturer is refusing to replace it as even the new boxes have the same fault. Its that simple. I appreciate everyones help however I am not wanting to give the make and model.
Right...
I was in this situation a few years ago with Audi.
I had a common fault, yet they swore blind it was a one off, so I went armed with info from here and the net to fight them. So if you want help, just tell us the car as someone on here may have one or deal with them and will be able to assist you further. Or give you clues or inside info.
You can't come on here giving half a story and expecting help lol
Also, if they only made 4 - how can they class it as a comon fault?0 -

So now we have the car, which is a Triple Eight 888 Stealth in black. As per the quoted post, they appear to have been sold by Thurlbys and are nothing to do with Vauxhall.
So now we know the car (this is why it was important) we can start asking the pertinent questions to give you an educated answer. Who did you buy the car from? A Vauxhall franchised dealer, Thurlbys or some other dealer?
Who is the warranty with, don't automatically say Vauxhall, read the warranty and confirm it. Was it an ordinary Vauxhall dealer you took it back to first?0 -

Can be a 888, yes there was 100 made as a limited edition, however they then went on to make 4 of them 100 into another limited edition called the ST8ALTH which basically has extra bits that the standard T8Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

Its the Stealth. We are already registered on the AON (astra owners network) which is one of the bigger ones. My OH has been on there for years and did a lot of work to the site.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

Because the ST8alth is 4 of 100, then the T8 is as explained basically a limited edition of the sport hatch astra, so there are actually hundreds if not thousands of these that use the same gearbox. however the stealth has uprated torque as standard. I wasn't giving half of a story. I gave the full story.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

Thurlbys are a vauxhall franchised dealer. The warranty is with Vauxhall, however they are passing the buck to the T8 performance centre (VXR PC)who are in turn saying it is nothing to do with them. Which is why Thurlbys now have the car back with them as everyone is blaming everyone else!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0
