Thanks but I really want to buy from a shop if possible in case it goes wrong. Any other ideas?

Perhaps you can expand on this comment...why you think it would be better to buy from a shop.

How long did it take for refunds to come from Argos ebay clearance? I've had two faulty now and am staying well aware.

Yes, Interested in the details. The machines, the faults.
Did you buy a second machine before you received the refund for the first?
  • the CR500 seemed a real bargain, it has ended now but not sure it had the look for her, the Toshiba looks nice, basic spec seems good - graphics seem good too - I think it has a webcam but only 0.3mp which sounds low (the cr500 had 1.3mp) - any further thoughts on the spec welcomed! I probably could perusade her to go for it!

To be honest, none of them had 'the look'. But your choices are limited, especially when you put colour choices in the mix.

Spotted these bargains on Argos Ebay Clearance today:

    Toshiba L500-1XJ - £294 incl postage

    MSI CR700 - £284 incl postage

I'm sure they'll be snapped up soon.

I am also looking for some cheapest deal.. Let me find it here . Thanks
  • I'm looking to replace my Acer Aspire 3690. I've had it for around 4 years now, and never had any problems with it. My budget is around £300- £350.
I'm a student so will be using it for my studies as well as everyday use for surfing the web, storing photos, downloading music etc.

TBH I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. My ex partner bought me the Aspire, and I'm finding it a bit of a minefield.

I've had a brief look at the Acer 7732, and 5542, but would love for someone with a bit of techie knowledge to give me a bit of guidance.

    TY

They've both gone, Knarf. The laptops not your posts.

I did look at the links you posted Knarf, but the laptops are no longer available. I appreciate everyone who takes the time to post links and answer questions on this thread, and as I said in my post, I'd like a bit of knowedge and confirmation from somebody more technically minded than myself.
