Perhaps she would prefer this Toshiba Satellie L500-1XJ for £294, as it's not black.

The MSI CR500 at £264 is also as cheap as chips.

If the build quality is not as expected...send it back.

    Hi all,
I am looking for a laptop around the magical £350 mark. Must be reasonably quick with a good size hard drive for a uni student. Being at Uni means it will be used for all the usual student essentials:
    Listening to music
    Surfing
    Watching films/streaming tv shows etc
    Games
    DVD player

Oh, and the occasional bit of word processing etc. Which processor should I be going for? I am thinking something with at least 2gb Ram, 160gb HDD, DVD rewriter, wireless and ideally a warranty for at least 12 months. Anything available at the moment?

    Thanks

This is exactly what my 6th form son needs. Speakers and microphone important to him.

    Any ideas

    I'd recommend this Asus X5DIJ

Hope they've still got in stock.

I popped into Costco for the first time in months yesterday. The Coventry store was doing the Lenovo G550 for £274 inc VAT. Comes with a 2 year warranty.
  • argos clearances seem to have a few new models on - any recommendations around the £300 mark apart from the CR610 (which is still just £299) - especially something which looks a little racier than that?

It's a different CR610. I already pointed you towards some different models earlier...pay attention. :)

Thanks but I really want to buy from a shop if possible in case it goes wrong. Any other ideas?

How long did it take for refunds to come from Argos ebay clearance? I've had two faulty now and am staying well aware.
