If something is Ex-display you can normally save 25%+ just because its been out the box lol
What do we all do when we get a PC home.... thats right we un-box it. Differenced is mine was already un-boxed for me
Oh and lets not forget ex display units still come with the same warranty
You can call it whatever you like. I'm just saying that I would not be interested in a PC World 'ex-display' unit. Knowing that it was plugged in for up ten hours a day, being fingered by a multitude of people.
If that is what you call "just being out the box", so be it.
You statements just don't seem to make sense to me.
Anyway, who cares? You are happy and that's the main thing.0 -
Hi PikeyP, it is the one with the free bag, I have checked back on his feedback, but the ones who have bought doesnt actually say anything about the product, just fast delivery etc etc.0

Hiu i was chating to Dell last night and that laptop is no longer made, the replacement one they belive is this one but i think the toshiba lappy from the other page or even this one is the same or better and cheaper
Also some of the reveiws on the dell web site are stating hard drives that fail, this could be true because i have an old lappy and a new desktop from dell and both have had replacement hard drives.
The desktop was within a month of purchase the lappy was longer.Spending my time reading how to fix PC's,instead of looking at Facebook.0 -

Hi guys,
I was wondering if you could help. My little bro is working on his masters dissertation and his laptop has completely died on him. He is desperate to get a replacement asap ( ideally to purchase today, instore as time is of the essence!), and has asked me to have a look around and see what is available. His budget is really £300 as he needs to allow for purchasing Office, although I think he would push up the budget to £350 if there was a cracking deal to be had. I have found this one which is in our local store
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/compaq-presario-cq56-206sa-15-6-laptop-black-10969073-pdt.html
and was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on it or could recommend something better? I'm no expert in these fields and am trying to help him out given he's in a blind panic at the moment!
Thanks ever so much in advance.0 -

What is wrong with his laptop? Avoid PC World....for anything.0 -
Hi!
From what I gather, it has been crashing on him when he's been working - so not even during anything that's particularly intensive - just working on essays and surfing the net. He's not around at the moment to ask (he's en route home at the moment from uni) but I know that the laptop is over 6 years old and he says he's tried everything to sort it out, even wiping and re-installing but to no avail. I'm sorry I can't say anymore than that but all I know is that he is terrified that if he doesn't get a new laptop soon, he's going to fail his MA, so I'm having to deal with panic of failure as well as panic purchasing!
I know he doesn't need anything for gaming - just work primarily, surfing the net, viewing films and storing photos - but I just don't know where to go to pick up something today/tomorrow which is vaguely decent. He is saying he can't wait until Monday which really puts us in a bind as I'm sure the best deals are to be had online, so I 'resorted' to looking at PC world as it's one of the only places I will be able to get to easily to pick something up, bar Comet and Currys. It's all a bit of a nightmare, tbh.0
