There is a £300 Toshiba in argos at the moment with a 4GB ram and i5 processor, brilliant deal!
Not all i5s are better than i3s according to CPU benchmark."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

After much deliberating and browsing I have come to the conclusion that I like the look of two possible laptops.
http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/acer-aspire-5552-15-6-laptop-black-10945101-pdt.html
Weighs in at £330 and has improved graphics compared with:
http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/21427675/-/Product.html
Which is £70 more expensive but has considerable power.
It would mostly be used for internet and pictures etc, maybe playing a bit of football manager if given the chance.
So which is the best value for money?0 -

They are pretty much the same in terms of processor performance and the rest of the spec appears the same. Just depends if you want AMD or Intel.
Do you need something so highly powered(expensive) for what you want to do with it?
Also look at John Lewis as you get 2 years warranty thrown in.
The two sites you mention aren't necessarily the most competitive."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Have you tried googling the basic spec to see what other options are available?
HP and the don't get many brownie points on this thread and the the outlet might not be the most competitive. Often the supermarkets T, S and even JL can often pop up better deals."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....
