    No.

I would be looking at a second generation i3 or i5 processor with HD3000 graphics at that price.

£250 to £300 should cover your simple needs.

Thanks for the advice is there anything you could recommend - hubby wants it to have bluetooth (god knows why)? Would prefer to buy from a shop but happy to go online for a good price.

So much choice these days that it's hard to recommend just one.

Are you looking for a Desktop replacement(large screen, perhaps 18.4") or portability? Long battery life or not important.
    Clear screen or matte?
Think about what is important to you.
  • For those on a tight budget and who don't need a webcam, this Toshiba Satellite C650-1CN for £199.99 inc delivery is nice. De-install some of the unnecessary bundled software to bring it up to speed.

Specs here. Hit F5 to refresh the page if necessary.

CPU Benchmark of 1396 as compared to 723 of the DELL/V160 above. Though the DELL does have a better graphics card.

    Expect 'as new' condition.

That spec is awesome for under £200! I think that is a dual core processor, but they don't say so; I wonder if that is why this machine may not have sold well. Where does that price come from? It's not on that page and there seems no link to a checkout.

I know it's asking alot but is there any smaller machine with the same spec and pricetag? I'd be happy to pay that (a little more with webcam and mic) for a machine with a screen as small as 11.6" as long as it had the 1366 x 768 resolution. It wouldn't even need an optical drive, but I require W7 Premium, a dual core processor, 2GB of RAM (or 1GB+spare slot) and a battery which lasts at least as long as the 4hrs 20 mins quoted for the Toshiba.

Could you please explain the difference between the two offers on this page?

The only difference I can see is that the top offer is Paypal only while the lower one accepts cards.

Would this be a good laptop which suits my need. I just want to use for internet use, it will always be plugged into the charger (so battery life is no issue) - i want to pay no more than £350. I would prefer a 15inch screen

This Toshiba Satellite C660-1D7 offers a little more for £259.
It states 'refurb' but it will be new.

The Toshiba above is good value for money, if a bit basic.

He can add Bluetooth for as little as £1.21. Higher spec dongles are an option. Such as this one or this

This machine only has 2 USB slots.

I only see one offer. Plus they claim it has only Windows XP, whereas you asked for Windows 7. THough strangely the model they sell in the main shop has Windows 7. So perhaps the XP tag is a listing mistake.

According to the specification, it looks like the Toshiba Satellite T130-13Q, but they state 11K, which doesn't seem to exist.

Presuming you scrolled down, I was just wondering why the price at the top was Paypal only. I am not considering this machine, the main reason being that I don't think the 1.3Ghz Pentium will be any faster than my existing 1.66Ghz Atom.

There is only one price. Don't give yourself a headache over nothing. :)

It was an Intel SU2700 I believe, which is quite a bit more powerful than any Atom processor.
