I'm thinking of taking all my savings out of my ISA and putting them into a Lloyds incentive saver at 2.4% net, 3% gross, which is a lot better than the ISA rate at the moment. Can't help feeling I'm missing something though!Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

Hi PawlalaIt looks like you might lose out on some interest if you swop from a ISA to the incentive saver. I used Martin's calculator and it came up with this :-
Enter Cash ISA RateTo beat this, your Regular Saver must pay at least... % ?3.8% for basic rate taxpayers or 5%at the higher rateIf you are 'lucky enough ' to be 50 before 6th April it applies now, otherwise from next tax year
Next year is fine gallygirlI've still got a fair while to get to 50!
How is the £4k challenge going taka? I haven't been brave enough to add up my figures yet! I hoping that I just break even.
The party was good last night and I didn't even spend a penny  means I owe bro a drink next time we go out though.
Work party tonight should be even betteras there's a disco and I can get up and dance :rotfl:that's if I can stay awake as I'm having a serious nap attack! :rotfl:

Really well - See my sig (which is probably ~ £75 quid more as I haven't updated it for a week or so). I'm hoping to come in at £4k (so £1000 less than budgeted! :j) as I still need to buy/pay for some Xmas prezzies + birthday prezzie + work party drinks + food for the rest of Dec + haircut etc! It'll be very close but I'd love to manage it!
The "extra" ~£1k is possibly heading towards a renovation/decoration fund for my flat.
I think I'm going to do an all in version next year (but excluding mortgage overpayments and money added to savings) though I haven't made a final decision on an amount yet!
Hope you break even!:T
Enjoy your party! :beer:Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

If I can get motivated tonight I'm going wrap the presents I've bought and write a shopping list for Thursday.Me and DH have agreed to use the £2 coin tin to buy alcohol  which I'm looking forward to.
I was let loose with DIY tools yesterday
and the study no longer has any skirting or shelves. Next job is to fill the holes and smooth the walls ready for painting this weekend.

Back at work again on the 5th Jan! Even better news is my boss has volunteered to babysit my cells over the break so I don't need to come in over the break and brave the wilds of my work with no heating or people! :j
