Given the choice bw broadband and a TV license, it'd be broadband every time
Funny you should say that QB, I was thinking that I can use February's break in Council Tax to pay mineI think I probably could cope without a TV but DH certainly couldn't!
I suggested to DH that we look at Freesat and cancel Sky - I'm surprised that he didn't sleep with the sky box next to him last night as he did this:-
He's now promised to find a cheaper broadband provider, give the joint account more money and eat beans on toast for the next month :rotfl:
I thought, since I've agreed to LoveFilm for £10p/m we wouldn't need Sky anymore as we could get Freesat but hey-ho!Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Just popping in to say I almost had a NSD until I 'accidently' walked through Boots and spent £8.50 on 5 reduced xmas pressies
When I get home I shall wrap and lable them ready for the next set of birthday :A
I've also arranged for a window quote to be done on Saturday :j
See you guys Mondaywas going to bore you with my new budget but just spent the last hour fixing a massacred document

Sounds good... of course, the more you spend in these situations, the more you save!!! Which is counter-intuitive, in MSE terms. But we know it makes sense

You know you made me feel betterexplaining it like that, especially as I did it again today and spent £42 on three perfume sets.
The window quote came back at £3,900:eek: _pale_ scary.
Even scarier was doing the budget for this year - including expected spends like the windows and holidays - and having the screen turn red! We need an extra £300 to break even which DH has promised
On a lighter note the bedroom looks lovely and just needs a touch up where my painting was a bit hap-hazzardCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Have had a similar budget denting fortnight. Car repairs and MOT and tv licence and garden stuff. But pressies you know you have to buy and can be got cheaper now is money saved.
Yes, that's scary window money but you will save on the heating bills if you don't need as much to stay as warm.
Now you're in the pink! Keep going, you are winning. No longer half of Optimisticpair

Hi Smlsave
Subscribed to your diary (stalker) and have just spent the last hour reading it all, I was intrigued about why you were sleeping in the living room. So I'm blaming you for not hoovering my new living room carpet, not much fluff though and looks a lot better than I thought
Congrats on all you have achieved and on the wedding
On the window front I got all 3 companies round at the same time to do the quotes and then squished them on the same settee, and let them all outbid each other. It was quite funny to watch :rotfl:Mortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

Had a second window quote through today at £2850 but I think this is missing the VAT.
I've just been reading about the mortgage hikes, A&L have stayed the same (they're carp anyway at 4.99%) but I was having heart palpitations all the same.
From doing the budget I've seen how much we plan to spend this year on enjoying ourselves - gulp - thought I'd be honest and let you see....
Dancing - £288p/year
AirKix spending money - £40 (8/2/10)
Bournmouth spending money - £100
Prague spending money - £300 (March)
Dancing show - £50 + £50 spending money (21/03/10)
Hotel for Wedding - £100 (3/09/10)
running away now.........Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck
