    Hi Optimistic and Radish :)

Awwwhhh that's not fair! Tell de truth I didn't force you to read the whole thread - but well done for getting through it all :T Did anything interesting happen? :rotfl:

OMG, did you really? I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to do that!

Had a second window quote through today at £2850 but I think this is missing the VAT.

I've just been reading about the mortgage hikes, A&L have stayed the same (they're carp anyway at 4.99%) but I was having heart palpitations all the same.

From doing the budget I've seen how much we plan to spend this year on enjoying ourselves - gulp - thought I'd be honest and let you see....

    Dancing - £288p/year
    AirKix spending money - £40 (8/2/10)
    Bournmouth spending money - £100
Prague spending money - £300 (March)
    Dancing show - £50 + £50 spending money (21/03/10)
    Hotel for Wedding - £100 (3/09/10)

    running away now.........

Doesn't look to bad to me! Do both you and OH dance? I have two left feet!

Thanks TPA :) Yep, me and DH dance together :grinheart it's become a family thing as both sets of parents, my Nan and my brother dance. Even my work collegue started last week! I'd highly recommend giving it a go even with two left feet :D Our weekend in Bournmouth is actually a ballroom weekend too!

re the windows: I'm waiting on two recommended fitters to get back to me and then I think it'll be decision time

Oh, I've got to tell you what DH did last night. I asked him to make a tuna filling for jacket potatoes but sine there was no tuna he decided to use sardines - yum I hear you say - but he mashed them:eek: Unfortunatly, while they tasted lovely it looked like a cat had vomited on my jacket yuk-yuk-female-disgust-smiley-emoticon-000473-medium.gif

re the mortgage: I've been researching the one account type mortgages which appeal becasue of the flexibility and the fact that DH might get into paying it off quicker but I'm still not sure. I'm thinking I'll give A&L a visit to see what they can offer and visit an IFA too.

Then if there's a half decent mortgage I can always get the offer and stick to the SVR for six months (average mortgage offer validity) and see what happens.

Just popping in to say hi and hope everyone's got a good weekend ahead of them :)

I've just ordered a grocery shop through quidco - tesco with £10 voucher. That hopefully should be February's meals pretty much sorted as I got loads of frozen veg (I prefer fresh but frozen's sooo easy just after work)

I'm £15 poorer :( from paying Art subs but I'll be paying by standing order from April which will be much easier :D Just started on a stained glass painting for the bedroom, which I have to finish painting tomorrow.

Apprently the weather's going to be fine over the weekend so here's hopeing the garden will get a spring clean!

  • How did your gardening go? I picked up all the large twigs/small branches that our neighbour's tree seems to moult into our garden... so annoying and so many of them littering the path, veggie patch and lawn! Also I pulled few weeds from the veggie patch and boarders. It actually felt warm in the sun this afternoon!

OK I won't tell you that today I weeded the veg bed, planted the broad beans and covered with polytunnel and planted spring onion seeds indoors.

    embarrassed-smiley-lemon-demon-1237129_200_200.jpg I have a confession to make......
I didn't do any gardening at all :o

In fact I didn't do much at all :o

Except drink - I blame smf2's pretty cocktail for tempting me :D

Just popping to say I've counted my £2 can and we've got £280 :j This is going to be used as our spending money in Milton Keynes Monday (£40), Bournmouth next weeked (£100) and the £140 left is going towards Prague :D

I put on 2.5lbs saturday :( So I'm upping the exercise back this week with Pilates Monday, Swimming Tuesday, Tonight and Friday. I think dancing counts too on Sunday.

Looking at Jan we've overspent by £814.27  but mainly on booking the holiday and DIY. As we had the extra funds we're not in any trouble but seeign it written down certainly opens your eyes!

Good news is that we came under budget on the grocery bill by £14.12 :A :rotfl:

  • Well done for undershooting on the grocery budget :)

Re other spends, I guess you could always accommodate them by spreading them over the twelve months, rather than putting them all in January?!

Good luck with the exercise - your plan sounds exemplary. I know that I MUST get out and get active to loose my flab, but it's been soooo long since I have done anything that I am absolutely dreading it!!
