We have a Morphy Richards breadmaker too (but it's not smaller) and it's brilliant.
We have this one

I notice there is a compact one here.

:j I'm all excited as I'm expecting a quote for carpet on Saturday :j If the price is good I'll be expecting to have it fitted 04 Jan 2010 so that's the deadline for decorating the study and bedroom, call me crazy if you must
Money wise there's no savings going into the OP fund for Nov, Dec or probably Jan to cover Xmas and DIYAt least we haven't had to dip into the savings :undecided

smlsave have you tried bread recipes that don't need any kneading? I find they're easier than using our breadmaker. I gave ours away or you could've had it!

Thanks for thinking of me
My recipe and method, adapted from a 'grant loaf' a famous wartime recipe...
activate 1 sachet of quick acting dried yeast in about 1 pint of hand hot water and a tsp of sugar (optional, but you might need to put it somewhere warmer if you don't -is your central heating on?) or use approx 30g of free fresh yeast from Asda bakery :money:
Warm 1.5kg of bread flour in a large bowl or pan in the oven. Stir in 3 teaspoons of salt.
Add the yeasty water when it has formed a frothy head like a pint of lager!
Keep adding warm water and stirring with a wooden spoon til it's wet enough to combine all the flour and to come away from the sides of the bowl.
Divide between 3-4 2lb loaf tins. Leave somewhere warm (top of the oven whilst ser on low works for us) until dough peeks above the top of the tin by about 1 cm at highest point.
Bake on Gas mark 6 for 25 mins or til browned on top and sounds hollow when rapped with a knuckle
Enjoy
we make 4 loaves at a time and it's just under 2p a slice:money:
