I know time flies... early 2000 I went back-packing for the best part of a year. It only seems a wee while ago but its now almost 10 yrs since I left! Sob... I STILL haven't done anything with the 1000's of photos i took...
you went back-packing taka, did you go by yourself? I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to go back-packingre: your photo's - why don't you pass them to someone and say "for Christmas I would like these sorted and made into a photo book" . Actually I need to take my own advice as none of our pictures have ever been printed!:rotfl:
So far, I've decided to take my lawn up and try growing my own veg next year, bake my own bread, try and do all the DIY that my house needs, become a mfw and keep a diary just to show that I could do it all.
You've seen my to-do list haven't you ally?I'd love to bake my own bread but then I'd have to eat it  with lots and lots of butter and I'd be twice the size!
Ohhh, did you see that Thorntons are giving you a £12 box of choc is you spend £15........i'm just off to have a look....
...just looking..
..just...

It was both the best and some of the loneliest times of my life. (months where you don't really have a deep conversation with somone who actually knows you - other than to friends/family at home). I think my favourite part was a trip into the outback in Australia... The Sydney Olympics were good too!:T
It changed me for the better I think - I came back more confident and it definitely changed my view on what is important to me in life and what doesn't really matter at all.:T :j
I'd love to do something with the pics (and all the tickets etc I brought back) but that is about 2 or 3 boxes of stuff  - it was in pre-digital camera times! :rotfl: Maybe a project for me over my Xmas hols - I have loads of albums I bought (a couple of years ago ) waiting to be filled...
*adds outback trip video to tonight's viewing* :rotfl: :jMortgage free as of 12/08/20!

Me too, I would love a bread maker but then I would need a cow in the garden to produce enough butter to spread thickly over warm, delicious, fresh bread, yum, yum, bubble gum:rotfl:MFW - We've only gone and blooming done it!May 2013:j0 -
A breadmaker is fab... Santa brought me one last Xmas! It is fair to say the bread doesn't last long though...lol.Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

It doesn't stay as fresh for as long as shop bought (as its not full of preservatives) but it certainly lasts 2/3 days. I just make the smallest loaf. Nothing beats waking up to to the smell of freshly made bread...in fact it helps make me get out of bed when its so cold and dark at the moment. :rotfl: Tastes 100 times better too... especially herb bread!

Ok, so I got distracted for all of yesterday afternoon looking at chocolate
I have now realised that I should just make my own chocolate slabs and christmas cakes instead of spending money cause they look so nice

I am in awe of you back packing takaI'm not sure if I could even cope with the stress of booking a holiday last minute!
DH has agreed that Italy sounds ok but only if we can afford it, otherwise we'll just go where the budget allows. SMF2 - Perhaps we should go together and get a group dealI've heard Niagara Falls is wonderful, my Nan went and loved it!
I'm thinking of putting a bread maker on my Xmas list now  I am so blaming all of you should I end up 20stone heavier by this time next year :rotfl: Do you know if you can get small ones though? I've only got a tiny kitchen.
P.S. I sent DH an email sayign that I'd like all our pictures printed and put in a book for Xmas so here's hoping.....Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck
