            Lists are good

Sounds like a good compromise sml, here's hoping it comes off :TA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

How strange smlsave I was just thinking the same thing myself this morning! Next year we definitely need to seriously update our house. Some of our carpets need replacing ( halls stairs and landings for example) and we need to do a fair amount of decorating. And we want a holiday next year.....:D
2010 already.....feels like it was only yesterday we were celebrating the new millennium:o0 -

Totally agree gg
I've broke the list into a to-do list just for the study and I'm going to make a start on it this weekend, I've even got tomorrow off :jFirst job is to clear the room...duh...duh...DUH! :shocked:How strange smlsave I was just thinking the same thing myself this morning! Where are you thinking of for holiday? I've been looking at the Venician Riveria so I get a beach and the chance to visit Venice, I'm excited just thinking about it!
I'm going to try and get DH up to look at carpets tomorrow and arrange a quote
then I'll know how much I need to save for that!
I mentioned to DH that I was going to start work on the spare room and he laughed at me  apparently I am very see-through and he somehow knew that this was only cause I want another holiday :rotfl:2010 already.....feels like it was only yesterday we were celebrating the new millennium:o

            Smlsave,
I've just spent most of the afternoon reading your diary from start to finish and talk about inspiration, from you and everyone else. :A
So far, I've decided to take my lawn up and try growing my own veg next year, bake my own bread, try and do all the DIY that my house needs, become a mfw and keep a diary just to show that I could do it all.
Then I come back to my real world and feel all depressed again. Never mind, I had a fantastic afternoon and wish you continued success.0 -

No joke - we have been talking about Italy too. Probably Florence. We might have enough air miles to get 4 free flights which take some of the sting out of the awful cost when we get there:eek:
Has anyone been to Niagara Falls? Was it any good?

Ah all this talk of holidays, it's 5 years since our last one apart from odd days seeing family around the country. Hoping to go somewhere a bit hotter than here next year to actually get away.
Which reminds me I need to count up our Mr T vouchers to see our current balance!
Edit: £161 which is £644 in deals:T0 -

Please start a diary and me and smallsave will definitely pop in for a chat:T0 -
I'm on a DIY mission at the mo

DH has said that he doesn't want to go on a summer holiday as he'd rather get the house decorated. Which, I admit, makes sense.....
BUT I WANTA HOLIDAY! So this means that I've got to do as much DIY as humanly possible and save extra for a holiday on top of everything else. !
Just popped by to say hello - this made me laugh... My thoughts exactly. OH works on the basis of getting other people in to do stuff - I however, gird my loins and reach for the toolbox and decorating overalls... The cash I save goes into the holiday fund...
Italy sounds wonderful, and Venice is a dream. Yes, it's full of tourists, but it is sooo beautiful. If the weather's nice, you don't even need to spend that much when you get there. Looking back, I can see that me and OH had quite a romantic time together. Not quite sure what's happened since... Maybe we ought to go back again!!! Now that's a thought!!!
